Looking for the right amp…help

Marshall high gain?

I own three that I recommend:

Engl Artist Edition 100 E651 or Bogner Helios Eclipse or JVM410H

an outlier that I own that I think sounds great for hi gain Marshall is my JCM-900 Model 2100 SL-X with 5881 power tubes; the SL-X has an additional tube preamp gain stage vs the clipping diode in other JCM 900 models, I think it sounds better than JCM 2000, but that's another option to consider.

Many seem to like the Marshall Jubilee, so that could be another consideration.

IMO

Having tried what seems to be most amps out there, and typically gravitating towards high gain modded Marshalls or similar style circuits, I find myself looking for something different. Looking for something from clean to mid gain, crunchy, articulate, tight low end, and harmonically rich…head only, no combos. Wattage is not a concern. This would not be a primary amp, it would be more or less a supplementary amp used in the studio.

Asking for your recommendations based upon the aforementioned criteria. Thank you!
Sounds a lot like a Hiwatt Custom 50/100 or Plexi/JMP to me. Jumper the inputs, crank up the volumes, and use your guitar volume for everything in-between.

If you want selectable output wattage, and slightly less defeaning volumes maybe a Hiwatt Stage/Studio or one of the new Marshall Studio amps?

SL67 or SL68 on the used market can be had for sub $2k
