Believe it or not, some of us don't really give a shit whether the 35 year old recent divorcee likes our (somebody else's) music and shakes her saggy cougar tits at us as we play some shit that was tired the second it was released.

Has nothing to do with the fact it's popular, has everything to do with the fact that Nickelback sucks. I like catchy stuff, too; I'm on the record everywhere as liking a ton of popular music, rock or otherwise. I didn't say writing hits was easy, either, nor would I be interested in writing the shit they write for any amount of money if I had to put my name on it. I'm sure they're totally pleased with their lives, music, and success, and I'm happy for them that they've found what they like, and I hope they're musically fulfilled by it. They wouldn't give a shit what I think, and why would they?

I don't care if he does the Nickelback tribute or not, I just said I didn't think it would be successful considering there's no nostalgia factor like Bon Jovi and also that, as a musician, the music would be really boring to play. If you really are only interested in getting women to stand in front of the stage, then I guess it would be OK. But think about it, they don't even give a shit about YOU. They just are glad to hear some shit they heard on the radio because it's familiar, regardless even of how well it's executed. To me that would be the worst.

I'm actually working on a tune at the moment, and once it's done I'll be happy to upload the lead sheet

Hey Rich you gonna do this as a 4 or 5 piece? Just you on guitar? I'd like to do some Nickelback songs and havent yet because Im so anal about sounding like the recording. Chads vocals are so huge I guess because he's getting double tracked and harmonizing himself. What are a couple of the songs you'd think would go over well in a trio? I might try a couple just to see. I guess if the chicks dig it that's all that matters lol.

I found a singer that plays guitar too but he's rather just sing so we'll probably just get a guitar player. some of the songs are fine for one guitar like Never Again, too Bad, Photograph and Animals but the majority of their stuff requires the 2 guitars. As far as the vocals go, myself and bass player can handle most of the backings/harmonies/doubling if need be.

nothing wrong with playin' for dough..that's one of the reasons I WON'T get involved in another coverband these days...bars are paying out half of what they used to when I was gigging (about two years ago) these days...and with a little one running around and the usual zombification the whole next day after leaving for the gig at seven and getting home at three or four AM, I just can't justify it...the music scene around here sucks...if it didn't suck so bad I would consider it (I still get the itch from time to time if for nothing else than to just open my amp up and play loud and proud) but it's really not worth the effort around here...at least not for new bands..some bands still do well but they've been staples in the area for years and years...has nothing to do with them being any good either..HeHeHeeheHheHEHEHEEHEHEHE
