I found a singer that plays guitar too but he's rather just sing so we'll probably just get a guitar player. some of the songs are fine for one guitar like Never Again, too Bad, Photograph and Animals but the majority of their stuff requires the 2 guitars. As far as the vocals go, myself and bass player can handle most of the backings/harmonies/doubling if need be.
Hey dude, can I name your new band too? :D ;)[/quote]

go ahead

Like I said, you asked for a reply, and I gave you one, albeit a bit expanded to include other people's posts.

Now Sean, since you have a HUGE mouth...can I hear any of the stuff your working on? I mean since Nickleback is so generic, you should have no problem writing a hit...I mean...its really easy right? Just saying ;)

And Sean, I used to sound like you when I was younger. its just now that Im older I can see things from a different perspective ;)

Believe it or not, some of us don't really give a shit whether the 35 year old recent divorcee likes our (somebody else's) music and shakes her saggy cougar tits at us as we play some shit that was tired the second it was released.

Has nothing to do with the fact it's popular, has everything to do with the fact that Nickelback sucks. I like catchy stuff, too; I'm on the record everywhere as liking a ton of popular music, rock or otherwise. I didn't say writing hits was easy, either, nor would I be interested in writing the shit they write for any amount of money if I had to put my name on it. I'm sure they're totally pleased with their lives, music, and success, and I'm happy for them that they've found what they like, and I hope they're musically fulfilled by it. They wouldn't give a shit what I think, and why would they?

I don't care if he does the Nickelback tribute or not, I just said I didn't think it would be successful considering there's no nostalgia factor like Bon Jovi and also that, as a musician, the music would be really boring to play. If you really are only interested in getting women to stand in front of the stage, then I guess it would be OK. But think about it, they don't even give a shit about YOU. They just are glad to hear some shit they heard on the radio because it's familiar, regardless even of how well it's executed. To me that would be the worst.

I'm actually working on a tune at the moment, and once it's done I'll be happy to upload the lead sheet

Holy shit someone needs a hug!!!!!!!! :hys: :hys: :hys:

His Mom gave him a hug when she gave him his lunch box before school this morning. He's just pissed she didnt cut the crust off of his BP&J and then confronted him when he got home about the crusty sock she found in the back of his top drawer next to the picture of Obama in his swim trunks.

Hey Rich, how about a Foo Fighters thing since I believe they are laying low for awhile so I heard? People love them as well and there hit catalog is much larger than Nicklebacks. Plus their music is fun as hell to play....yeah I said it :gethim:

Sean with the struggling artist approach and view

i dont know if i agree with you on the hit catalog comment, nickleback has probably had more hit in the past 5 years than the Foo Fighters

Rich already pointed that out to me, he had valid research data that proved I was way off :D

I think if you can make some coin out of it do it....but with that said, being that we share the same management company I have been told by the powers that be that doing a tribute to a band that is still around and gigging is a tough sell. personally, Im not sure if i believe it or not lol

It might be tough in your area, I did both a Metallica and a U2 gig before, and we had lots of jobs. This is of course in Norway, where those bands play ONE gig, and go to Sweden or Denmark for the next :) Many people don`t get to see them, and like the songs. I think it sounds like a nice idea, and Nickleback are popular with heavy guitars. It would be a win in my book :)

A couple of friends of mine played in a Creed tribute at the height of Creed's popularity and that band did really well. Always played to packed houses. I guess it just depends on the band's appeal.

my .02

I'm too fkn tired an old to go drive 3+ hours, stand on line at a gate, find a seat an have shit sound quality at a large arena any longer.... I just dont fkn care anymore....
If I can catch a decent cover band, hit a few cocktails, say hi to a few folks, thats a fine night out. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd rather keep it low key an local, so any skilled cover act thats got enuff hits to keep people dancing/drinking would do fine.... Nickelback? Fine idea. Go for it!!
