I just saw them and they were spectacular. Like they were always great, but they took up a notch!
Henry's guitar tone was amazing.... seems to be a lot of heavily modified Mexican Starts> DSL (hemp speakers) and a Fender.
I thought maybe the Fender was clean and Marshall gain, but it might be he uses them both all the time?

Jo Jo (bass) was thunderous: 2 8x10s?
When he went up high on the neck, he may have put a subtle low octave under on it- it was thunderous. The dude was matching and playing off of the guitar so much but still retained the rhythms. Crazy

On a side note, I ran into the drummer Ringo at a pizza place after and he was such a cool dude, chatted us up and tried to get to know us, it was crazy. Dude put a stick in his mouth and played congos with one hand and drum beats with the other hand(stick); brought back in the 2 sticks for huge fills then back to hybrid congo thing.

I could go on and on, the whole night was very inspirational

Yes his guitar is insanely good. Never shrill, which is near impossible for a single coil strat. On an interview he talks about building up to use thick strings, a la SRV. I was on that kick for awhile too, but then I saw ZZ Top guy uses super light strings and his tone is amazing....+ I'm getting older so not going super heavy as much. Maybe the heavy strings have more of an impact on single coils? IDK

I think Gilmore has the B or G string extra light so he can do those crazy 2 1/2 step bends.
40+ years of playing and I'm still trying to find my perfect string

Strat+big Marshall and greenbacks with good EQ'ing and a tubescreamer is usually a win for avoiding shrill tone and will give you the basic Jimi/SRV/Garza tone. Looks like Henry has got a Twin running in conjunction in the live clip from Ukiah. 11 14 16 28 28 49 was my final string set on a strat with a strat+plexi before I bailed outta strat world. A balance of durability, tone, and (relative) ease of playing. I never could stick those ultra heavy gauges.

The hi power tweed twin also makes a great straight-in strat amp per some past experiences as it's a very rich sounding amp.
