Is there such a thing? @ 4,8 and 16oms, not that 450 watts @ 2ohm bullshit either.

The matrix stuff most likely. Class A/B loud as hell, tho the only reason it's two space is the slower fan for recording the one space is identical. Gt1000fx

If you enter the realm of solid state power amps, you're always going to have higher wattage with a lower speaker impedance.

There are many different PA type power amps to use that will deliver that kind of power.

Personally, if I wanted some solid state power amp that was 2 rack spaces, just look on eBay and you'll find something great for relatively cheap. Go with a brand name you trust and you'll be set.

Personally, I got a Crown K-2 that was used and works great for my application.

I'm using a Tubeworks Mosvalve MV-962 and it sounds great. I'm not sure how loud it is compared to others, but it's plenty loud for most band situations.

Carvin DCM1540L has been getting some love lately. Most people mention it that cant afford the Matrix....

Was wondering about the Carvin stuff. The Matrix is expensive, but looks killer!

This!

Can you describe you application with the k2? I am using k1s and k2s for my pa rig. I am also using a k1 with my Eden WTDI as a preamp into an ampeg 210 for bass, works great.

I have a K2 which I use in a bass rig. Tons of power, very quiet, auto-noise gate which is amazing, and heavy as hell and very front heavy. A beast and has never failed in over 10 years.

Some people are saying just buy whatever is cheap but ill say class A/B is a defining factor.

Class d, t etc amps just don't sound as good as class a/b for guitar sounds.

The trend for PA amps has been away from Class A/B amps. Also the trend has been away from linear power supplies on amps to switch mode power supplies. So the class AB amps are harder to find if you are looking new in the PA area.

I know a number of former Crown employees and they preferred the older amps to the newer ones. One of them swore by a Crown PS-400, which was one big and heavy beast.

The matrix are a/b, the old tubeworks mosfet, and I think there is a carvin or crown if I'm not mistaken.

I don't know anything about pricing, but this could be the king
of all solid state poweramps:

i use the 982 single space, and have had it since like 1994ish..i love it. always dependable....hundreds of gigs with a digitech 2101 and NO issues.

i bought a mosvalve 1500 later on for my touring rig as a backup, and started using it at our headliner shows when i used 2 cabs. it's an earthquake machine. i sold it a while ago though, just didnt need it. its a 2 space rack. fucking thing SLAYED and kept up nicely with bstaleys vht power amp a few jams we had.

i've moved on from rack gear, but, i wouldnt obviously hesistate to recommend a mosvalve if you're looking for solid state and reliability and great, consistent sound.

And considering how cheap they can be found, I think under $200 for mine, it's a no brainer.

I'm hoping to see a lot more analog computing type amplifiers pop up, I'm hoping its a new worthwhile territory for guitar amps.

Seems so fundamentally perfect, a voltage is represented by a voltage.
