Yeah, he switched over to Bogner a few years ago. He wanted to shake things up a bit, since he´d been using more or less the same stuff for over twenty years.

He sounds absolutely great through anything, but I still think he sounded his best with the Soldano back in the late 80s and very early 90s. He is a different player these days, though, so maybe it wouldn´t be as good a match as back then.

I met him last year.. real cool guy too. was very humble

Do you guys know the story that once a journalist asked EVH, how does it feel to be a guitar god. And Eddie's reply was: "I don't know! Go out and ask Steve Lukather!"

He's freakin awesome. Seems really down to earth too.
Enjoyed that.

If you look at his sites studio log, he did more in his first 2 years than most could hope to do in a lifetime! GREAT player! I especially like Toto's last 2 albums Mind Fields and Caught in the Balance. Well worth your time, if you haven't checked them out yet.

He is a superb player. Doesn't get the credit he deserves IMO. Can play any style well and has a nice way about his playing. He has had a stellar career so far and I hope he has many more years of playing ahead of him.

Caught in the balance is a track off of Mindfields. Since then they did a cover album called Through the looking glass, an album from 2006 called Falling in between and the brand new XIV. I really like the new one.

My all-time fave player. Hands down.

The new album is really good too.

He is my favorite player. I got to do some work for him in LA. He's super humble and hilarious. To sit in a room with him while he "noodled" was unreal.
A true gift.

That's right. I was thinking for Falling in Between.

That muthafucka can play!! love his MM guitars as well...

I have to check out another Luke. I'm trying to find guitars with smaller necks and I used to have a Luke iii some years ago. Thing is I'm getting some pains in my left thumb that just won't go away so i think 1 5/8th nut widths are all I can use.

I love the Luke guitars but those low profile frets make me nervous
