Setting up field hospitals were a real thing. My wife gave birth to our daughter in a shut down hospital because so many workers were sick, several hospitals had to combine to keep one fully running.
Remember that Naval ship in NYC? It went unused and they quietly sailed out. The hospital thing was wonky. I understand they just shut them down, who knows why. People all over were going to their local hospitals, filming them empty. Then YT started taking those videos dow. Do you have personal knowledge that the workers in your local hospitals were sick or are you just going off what was reported or you were told?

Of course I have personal knowledge. I was in a completely empty hospital for 3 days, save for a few nurses and one doctor.
No meals, no kitchen staff, no janitors. Just us and one other couple who gave birth the day after we did.
The emergency room was technically open but it was just a dude going out to people’s cars to do covid tests, no one was allowed in.
It’s a tight night community, people talk. I doubt there was anyone here that didn’t know someone who was hospitalized from Covid

I don’t know where you are from but we got hit very hard very early. Between our ties to NYC and the early outbreak in Boston, we were getting fucked while other parts of the country were still sitting with the thumbs up their noses saying it’s all a hoax

How many people do you know that were hospitalized? As for other people around the country, it is possible they had a different experience. I was watching this dude on YT very early on, livestreaming walking around, into hospitals etc. It all looked empty. This was NYC. There was one busy one, I think in the bronx. Of course if they shunted all the activity from a bunch of hospitals it would overload the one, regardless of a virus.

So you were in a hospital that was nearly empty but you know a lot of people who know people who were hospitalized. Makes perfect sense to me

I was going to point that out, but whatever. There's always an excuse. I don't know though, maybe different locations had totally different experiences. And they wanted to preplan the delivery? Why? To save space for an empty hospital, or just to send workers home? Were they sick or not?

It all makes sense. Remember when restaurants in NY were serving people outside in the cold in plastic wrapped sheds?

I really try to be fair. Many people are just stupid, so they take the idea that being outside is safer, and then defeat the purpose by enclosing themselves in plastic. A lot of this can be explained by simple retardation, not conspiracy.

yea dude, did you read my other posts??

I'd say I know at least a dozen people who were hospitalized and there is only one that I can think of actually came out alive after being on a ventilator. Probably about the same number I knew that traveled to NYC to work and help out because they were so overwhelmed. So feel free to give me shit for believing people actually there and not "some dude on youtube", but hey man, whatever helps you sleep at night.

Everyone I know got COVID (Supposedly) and I got it too according to a antigen test. I know of one person, female, mid 40's (Vaccinated of course) that supposedly had to go to the hospital. I know her but didn't talk to her myself so can't verify. And yeah, I watched a dude on youtube go into or around NYC hospitals realtime, filming them empty or no activity whatsover outside. This wasn't staged, and it wasn't a conspiracy or trick — just a grassroots, critical thinking guy (My type). I'd take this sort of evidence over what the head on the TV tells you, but that's me. Maybe people in your town just got bad cases ?‍♂️

I will try and spell it out for you then (as if it would matter) when I said that we had to shut down smaller hospitals in order to staff one hospitality fully, I meant that so many people (medical workers) were sick with covid, that there were only enough available to keep one hospital fully functioning.

My small town hospital was one of the ones that shut down so that any remaining workers could go to the open one.

So when I said I was in an empty hospital, I meant that it was closed down because there weren’t enough people left to staff it. I figured that qualifying “no janitors, no kitchen staff, a few nurses and one doctor” would make that clear to you, but shame on me for still giving you credit.

Many hospitals all over had to shut down for similar reasons. That’s why “elective surgeries” were not scheduled for a long time. That’s why field hospitals popped up so that Covid patients could all be in one spot, allowing other hospitals to slowly be able to treat non covid patients again.

Anyone who has paid a shred of attention would know that the earliest cases were by far the most severe, so obviously in my attempt to stress the “early outbreaks” in my area went right over your head.

The entire world went through similar scenarios. Your ability to ignore that is astounding.

Okay, okay, I can go back to insulting you too 'ya know, but you just run off butthurt to the main forum complaining I'm mean. So I'll be nice and just ignore it. I'm still really curious about your experience though. You say they wanted to induce delivery two weeks early? Why? Presumably they had more resources at that time right? So less people sick. And apparently they estimated correctly that two weeks later there would not be enough staff, thus the empty hospital?

No, I understand that, I just don't know whether it was a planned shutdown or the workers actually couldn't be present because of illness.
That’s why “elective surgeries” were not scheduled for a long time.
That was an administrative decision. Not for lack of resources.

I don't ignore that, but what I'm saying is that many places didn't have the same experience you're describing, with lots of videos of folks filming inactive hospitals, all across the country. When these started getting out, they took down the videos and attacked the filmers, claiming lockdown violations and "Public safety" of course.

Lol good grief dude. Unless you are my sweetwater rep, I haven’t said shit about you in the main forum.

Anyways shame on me for dipping my toe back in to this cesspool. Time to rinse it thoroughly and back away slowly again.
I had high hopes for ya man. Apparently getting likes from these knuckleheads is more important to you than human intelligence.

I envy you guys that are just faceless screen names that feel good about spreading dumb shit on the internet. You can just create a new name when the nonsense catches up with you (as it has many times before).

Spare us and just respond to my points. You're free to create an anon account 'ya know.

I don’t want to create an anon account. I have no intention of saying things that I would have to hide from.
You have no points, you make no points. You take things that people like myself post, and inject your alternate reality into them. I played along for a while because it was interesting, as I do not believe people like that exist in real life, but now I’m over it. I’m gonna go back to speaking with people like adults and having actual discussions.

Cheers

Well, like I pointed out a while ago, you don't really have anything to worry about, because all your views check out A'O'K ?

...But you may have not picked up on the inconsistencies in your narrative. That's alright, some people are sharper than others. I'd be curious what your explanation is, if you ever take a moment to consider what's being noted. Might be tough to keep up appearances at work though, so maybe it's best to claim ignorance.

I give my explanations over and over again. My daughter was born in a shut down hospital, so I was aware of why hospitals were shutting down. I witnessed it with my own eyes. I have no reason to not believe the "narrative" of hospitals shutting down because I was l literally in one. It would be silly for me to believe it was true for me but the others were probably just made up.
I had friends travel to the city to help keep those hospitals staffed and running. They have told me personal accounts of it. Why would I not believe them?
Me? I don't have a narrative dude. I simply say things that have actually happened to me and discuss my opinions on them. There is no narrative. There is no bias. That is your department bro. You refuse to take anything at face value, even when you are face to face with it. If that's your thing, then let that freak flag fly dude, but you have to understand that you are putting yourself in a position where your opinions mean little to anyone interested in knowledge and understanding. It is impossible for others to understand the preconceived notions in your head. Your "critical thinking" is simply tying events to a desired result. Your mind is already made up and you are unable to be objective. Critical thinking is "why else could this have happened?", what you do is "how can I connect these two dots?". It's junk science.

It's only mildly frustrating now, but 30 years from now when we look back on this part of history it's going to be embarrassing.

I understand that the hospital you gave birth at was otherwise shut down. That doesn't answer the question as to why. According to you, it's because so many workers were sick. But you had said they wanted to induce two weeks earlier, presumably at a time when not as many workers were sick. If workers were getting sick then, they would have been better two weeks later, ready to deliver. Otherwise, what, did they just guess that your hospital would need to be shut down? There is also another issue, in that either way, your hospital was shut down at a time when all the (Other) hospitals were full, right? So you mean the hospitals were full where the workers were not sick. Then what, was the sick staff was just going to be indefinitely sick? Hopefully you can grasp the problems here. Maybe there's a good answer, but It's still probably a good thing that you're not a police interrogator. I mean at least for the law-abiding public.

Me?
But your hospital was shut down... How long was it shut down for? And you know that all the workers were sick at the same time?

Lol Are you serious bro?

Well in my case, they wanted to induce as soon as protocols started changing daily. The writing was on the wall that hospitals would be shutting down (actual real life accounts of medical workers getting sick combined with staff actually being pulled from neighboring hospitals) and they recommended we deliver at a time we knew the hospital would be open.

This was early March/late February of 2020. There were no treatments at this time, testing was not rapid, and very little was known about the actual virus. We decided not to go early, so The last few weeks of our pregnancy we did not know where we would deliver, who would be delivering, if I could be in the room or not. What should have been daily check ups were daily phone calls (to our midwife who was in quarantine)

We had no idea what would happen and neither did the hospitals because things like this are not static, as much as you would love for them to be.
People got sick, people got better. They left work when they got sick, they came back when they were better. It wasn’t a clean shift change, it was just what was actually happening any given moment. Protocols were changing daily.

I am not thinking of covid as “police investigator” because I am not investigating it. I am a witness to it. I’m not trying to piece together a story when I am the story. I was not misled, it wasn’t propaganda, it was real life in real time. I’m glad you lived somewhere that wasn’t much affected by the pandemic but fuck I wish you had a clue about it.
