Talented guy, undoubtedly. Can’t really compare it to Van Halen. The first few Van Halen albums are seriously untouchable in their greatness and sheer bad assery.

But, I don’t think he is going for that, and is doing his own thing. Great guitarist, bassist, singer and drummer. It’s a little too polished for me, but he is a talented guy. It’s more Sammy era VH than the dangerous and raw Roth era.

But, young Wolfie continues to kick ass. Well done. At least he is out there making guitar driven rock. Not many guys are doing it. Everybody wants electric drum loops and top 40. Rock is dead, so sad.

It will take such a gnarly and undeniable band to bring rock back.

boring radio rock like all the bands listed in this thread is what is killing rock imo, and when one of the guys that has the namesake, skill and people behind him to maybe do something to spice up a boring rock scene.. we get basically more of the same :dunno:

He's doing what 99.9% of all musicians do , following in the footsteps of those who influenced him the most & unfortunately his influences are mostly 90's bands .

im reading an article as i type this about him being inspired by meshuggah and other modern metal bands

"When the interviewer asked what kind of stuff he draws musical inspiration from for MAMMOTH WVH, Wolfgang said: "On the next album, there actually is some MESHUGGAH-inspired songs — just through the lens of MAMMOTH, though. So it's not as super heavy."

Back in 2021, Wolfgang told RockSverige that he was fans of bands like GOJIRA and MASTODON. He said: "Oh, yeah. I love GOJIRA. And I'm crazy about MESHUGGAH. PERIPHERY,"

I have never heard of any of those bands and I'm guessing the reason is I'm not a fan of 90's and early to mid 2000 era music at all . It's also why I have only listened to approx 4 Mammoth songs over the last two years in full and only because they popped up on YouTube when I was searching for early EVH isolated guitar clips .

Love VH and Wolf but it's just not my type of music.

I hate modern metal as much as I hate 90's era music . Metal to me is Judas Priest , Iron Maiden ,Accept etc I hate "Thrash" and the heaviest metal I like is Metallica preferably early Metallica .

I didn't say Mammoth sounds like 90's era music I said that's the era most of his influences came from.

I get that it may not turn you on. It might not be your preferred music style. I personally think he’s doing a hell of a job. Ans so far have enjoyed everything he’s released.

You've never heard of MESHUGGAH?

They've been active from 1987 and still are now
