Yeah Wiz made another run at me over there out of the blue.

Funny I don't even post in HCAF that often anymore, and got dragged into
it by his obsession with RT/Digijams and older people lol.

Trash talks RT/demographics any chance he gets then slinks into the classifieds
section to sell his amps that aren't trendy to own anymore.

Sorry Kage for thread drift...

No Sweat Tom. Guys like Carl and Mike are a waste of time and space. They both spew the same tired delusional BS and lies and actually think that people buy into it. Mike got torn a new one by Derek B a few years back and carla is butthurt about not being invited to an ampfest LMAO!!! The shit that they say is retarded but the fact that they keep going on and on and on is mind boggling!!!! Seriously, what normal person does crap like that???

Those were a lot of fun. Pretty humbling, but it was inspirational and cool to see how others approach things. Not to mention, it's good practice.

I'm all for it.

I know that we arent lacking in participants but It was an awesome thing that just kind of faded away. I have over 7GB's of backing tracks that we could go berserk on....

Kage

so lets start going berserk!!!

post a track a week.

I know constant backtracks (more variety) would keep me more interesting in participating every week than just the random once a month jam tracks we normally have.
I've never posted a track on any forum, I so nervous about it but I really want to go for it.

lets do it!

make the topic big and noticeable so it's not just some old backing track it's THE backing track for EVERYONE to do! lets hype this up, I'm SO down.

Introduce voting into the system and maybe throw in a prize, and you've got the beginning of a great idea, bro.
No.

Steve

Man that sounds like a great idea to get started here. One of these days I need to hook up with you for the backing tracks and also pick your brain about the MIDI setup again. After the NYE show I just did, I feel a new and improved rig coming on.

I would love it if we had some RT jams on a regular basis! I love that kind of stuff! The competition thing is just a bad idea though. Especially on a guitar forum. It would only start arguments and wouldn't benefit the forum at all.

Besides, what's to gain from being "the best" guitarist on RT? There are already several technically brilliant players here who have proven their chops and musical abilities in the real world. I am proud to know that I am practicing and getting better every day, and I have played with some top notch musicians (several famous) on the stage and at music school. I don't need to try to compensate for anything or prove that I can play on a guitar forum! That's like having the biggest dick in the room when you're in the ladies' locker room
Go to GC for that stuff and see if you can play Master of Puppets faster than the rest of the kids!
No, I much more like the idea of everyone having fun with it and contributing out of the sheer joy of playing music together.

yeah obviously the competition thing isn't a good idea. as stated- it will do nothing but create drama among the forumites. no fun there.
so what's the hold up? lol

I dunno, I think she might qualify as a dwarf? But remember, they like to be called little people.

I think the popularity of YouTube has taken a lot from Audio Clips for whatever reason. Too bad since YouTube compression squashes sound quality.

And there have been a few guys here from time to time who have posted backing tracks that didn't get much interest.

I think it would be different if it was a sticky and was kept up on by several forum members. Also, having more people aware of it and playing will make others more comfortable with putting themselves out there.

Maybe once a month would be better so we don't get burned out or bored right away.

Yeah it happens but it was never really about sound quality ya know?

I got to participate in 5 of those jams thjat I remember but I just dont have time to breath let along play, you know what its like. My life is my son and my work and there isnt time for anything else but Im looking to change that in the new year...

I think this would be awesome to bring to the forum! I wasn't on HCAF when they were doing these jams, but I know I would love to get involved if we did one here. My playing has become pretty boring lately and this would definitely give me an opportunity to test out some recording stuff in addition to working on my chops.

+1 to this!!!
