I would love it if we had some RT jams on a regular basis! I love that kind of stuff! The competition thing is just a bad idea though. Especially on a guitar forum. It would only start arguments and wouldn't benefit the forum at all.

Besides, what's to gain from being "the best" guitarist on RT? There are already several technically brilliant players here who have proven their chops and musical abilities in the real world. I am proud to know that I am practicing and getting better every day, and I have played with some top notch musicians (several famous) on the stage and at music school. I don't need to try to compensate for anything or prove that I can play on a guitar forum! That's like having the biggest dick in the room when you're in the ladies' locker room
Go to GC for that stuff and see if you can play Master of Puppets faster than the rest of the kids!
No, I much more like the idea of everyone having fun with it and contributing out of the sheer joy of playing music together.

Like being the tallest midget

is a tall midget a short dwarf?

those were good fun, i remember the big 20-man metal shred fest thingy that alex flouos put together - that was AWESOME. Loads of great players on that and it was really cool to hear all the personalities. (does anyone have that still? )

i remember alex, bill staley, and myron just owning on that....knut did his yngwie impression and kage ray-gunned everyone!

Yup, those jams were great. It taught me a lot about jamming and trying different styles.

I think the popularity of YouTube has taken a lot from Audio Clips for whatever reason. Too bad since YouTube compression squashes sound quality.

I think there may be something to this.

It's like we're conditioned to see a video feed along with the playing, and an audio clip only seems "incomplete".

What height does a person have to be to be considered a midget??? I work with an adult woman who is like 4' 8".

Are you a cast member of "Jersey Shore"?

Vid is so easy, that is why I did a few :scared:

I need to learn to use my DAW so I can get in on the jams again.

Back in the day there was no "who was the best" btw............................we just had fun and let it fly.
