Does anybody know when the transformer issues were resolved with these? Apparently there was a flaw in the early ones and many transformers failed. There's one for sale local that's tempting me. $2k with an added MV on back seems a little high tho.

I'll be diming this into a PS2 so I will be stress-testing the thing right off the bat.

It was quietly resolved - I never remember hearing an official announcement or technical board posting about it. I remember hearing first hand of the failures.

I played one dimed wide open when they first reissued them again and it was fender clean all the way to 10. Made no sense to me or my friend at the time. Turned me off on the HW models - if I have to tweak I’d rather have a ceriatone and load it with my own iron.

That was one of the amps I had in mind as a donor for mods but my attitude changed towards new equipment. There's more to vintage gear, the way it was made, processes ect. I wouldn't hesitate to butcher the shit out of one of these lol
