Marshall guys - what do you use to tighten up the low end

Steve,

They've added another gainstage with KK's EQ applied to it & a gate with KT88s, so that made it his signature. It's actually pretty awesome, good enough that I'm not thinking about selling it yet.  You might remember how fast some very high praised amps left after they arrived :D , it's hard to compete with a Diezel & this Marshall does a pretty good job I have to admit.

Try putting an analog delay in front turned on but not set to any repeats. Delay up, Repeats and speed down, presence down, bass at 3 oclock, mids and treble at 12 oclock.

Needs to be modded. End of story.

+1 it wouldnt be hard at all to swap a component, possibly 3 tops - to get more bass out of it.

One thing I've tried that has worked like a charm. Is boost in the front and eq in the loop (assuming the KK has a loop, but I don't know). TS types work well since the suck out some bass and jack the mids up. It can really tighten things up, but depending on the guitar/amp combination it can be too thin. So that's where the eq in the loop comes in to help you bring back the body of your sound without the mud. Parametrics are awesome for this. You can even do the same thing with 2 eq's: one in the front and one in the loop. Eq's can get noisey in front fast though. The TC 1140 is good for not adding alot of noise up front.

Edit: I ran this occassionally:
PRS Mira -> Ceramic Warpigs -> Bad Monkey -> Cameron Marshall -> TC 1140 or Furman PQ-3 in loop -> 4x12 V30 cab
I could dial in straight up Meshuggah style tightness with this. In fact I always thought how Meshuggah like my tone was when I ran it like that. Brutaly heavy, tight, & clear. The feel and tone was completely different than the Diezels I've had in the past, but it definitely didn't need to be tighter that's for sure.

you can add a resonance control. Not sure if that amp has one already.

These amps do not have loops!
unless they are modified! no loop for you!
