Peavey 5150’s are NOTORIOUS for the same thing happening to the top vent due to heat

I don't think I have ever seen a single 5150 that didn't have at least one corner missing on that damn vent.

these cracked when i UNscrewed them. they get brittle AF. this has happened to every 1960 with that plate that i've ever had, thats why i said it the way i did. its always irritating for a second when you see it on your cab.

The one for my Egnater was solid metal, but the actual electronics and the switching jacks were utter junk!!! They eventually broke on me and half the cab would intermittently die; and I'm guessing the ohmage was changing because of it too. I took them out and hardwired a jack in, job done!

Yep, my Marshall 1966A and B cabs have these too. Every friggin' time when that inner jack still loosens itself and falls inside the cabinet....
