Bill had a Herbert too when I saw them last, back in February. I think? My memory is hazy, maybe Brent had it? Either way there was both a VH4 and Herbert on stage.

Never heard of the band. What was the guy playing before the Diezel?
I assume they are metal?
Why is it crazy?

Usually Marshall's and Laney's. They're a great band. Very unique.

Yep, that's the same rig Brent was using when I saw them a couple of months back. His sound was mud city though so hopefully that was addressed :aww: . Bill's rig sounded 100x better. Bill was just running his 2 Marshall heads when I saw them last & only Brent had a Diezel (VH4). I get the impression though that these guys (especially Bill) like to mix it up with their rigs. I've seen pics with Bill using Marshalls, Laneys, Mesas, & one where he was standing next to a rack w/a VH4. So who knows what they may show up with :D

Thanks for the Clip!!
I dig that ALOT!!
I would TOTALLY listen to that!!
In fact......going to have to download some tracks! :D

Just havent followed the newer metal scene in a while.

They have a good sound!

All of their albums are great. Remission is my favorite though. They use a pretty cool tuning as well. AGCFAD for a lot of their songs, at least on the older albums.

Yeah. Bill switches his rig up every few tours. Although, a majority of the time I see them with the marshalls. It's just wierd seeing them with a deizel.

Remission is great, but their newer stuff is more my bag.

I am still stuck listening to Malevolent Creation....
Joe Black is such a BRUTAL KICK ASS CD!!

I love the crack the skye album.
Just like an old Zepplin album or a pink floyd album, I like just listening to it from beginning to end.

I saw them live recently, they opened for Dethklok. Mastodon is amazing live, we walked out after two songs from dethklok though.

I am not a fan of this band but why would it seem strange for him to be using a Diezel? From the sound of their music a Diezel would work perfect for them.

First thing first, that's a badass guitar.

Second thing is look at his right arm, that guy been donating lots of blood recently?

yeah saw them couple moths ago def. a vh4 and the hairy dude was playing a double neck sg too.

Only reason I can think of as to why some people might think it's weird is because they seem to be pretty old school with the gear they use. I've only ever seen them with Gibsons and Marshalls, and the occasional Laney.

same here. ;)

Whoa, that's different. I'm sure he sounds great with it, but I'd prefer he stay with the JMP/800. Crack The Skye has such a cool tone. A modern take on the classic rock sound.

God I love Mastodon. Been a fan since the Lifesblood EP. Such a great and individual band. Ghost of Karelia is one of the best songs I've heard in the last 10 years.

I hated the metal Mastodon records but the experimental rock Mastodon is king!

I love those crunchy crushing power chords during the "call and answer" parts of the song. They knock me on my arse
