yeah mastodon is one of my favorite bands! They don't fit the mold of so much of the newer metal out today, much more progressive!!

I talked to them for a bit on a photo shoot a few months ago. They use whatever amps are available. While they have their own gear, a lot of the time they use what the venue has or what amps are provided to them. Everything from Marshall, Mesa, Diezel, Orange, Laney, etc... Hell, I think I ran into one of the guitarists at my practice space and talked to him about my VH4 around the same time and he acted like he'd never heard of it. lol

Killer Thread!! You have to be in the mood for any type of music. Bill Kelliher has been using the Afwayu's for this last tour and live I think they sound really nice. It's that "in the room" sound...
