So...I potentially have an opportunity to get a custom Mayones for half price!

For those not aware of them, they are impeccably built, phenomenal custom guitars from Poland.

Specifically, I'd be getting one of these:

Bearing in mind I have 2 x PRS Custom 24s, Ibby etc, I have no real need to get a Mayo. That said, the price is seriously tempting and I'm slowly giving in to GAS.

Do I do it or not? They ARE seriously good guitars...I'd say, quality-wise, at or above PRS level, probably more like Anderson or Suhr, but not punitively priced.

ARGH DECISIONS.

So what's the problem? If you can spec a guitar out exactly the way you want it and get huge discount do it! It's usually the other way around (pay more to spec out a guitar the way you want it).

It's more that I don't specifically *need* another guitar - happy with my current ones - but don't want to miss an opportunity. Hmm.

Do it, d00d. If you can afford it, and your kids aren't starving, have at it. I really like the Mayones guitars myself, ever since I found out Bloodbath uses them. haha

the forumite BERNI (usually hangs out at the Diezel forums) plays Mayones guitars. He was a heavy PRS user

they are absolutely great guitars, i'd go for one, the switching system is more intuitive already than the rotary knob =)

just bear in mind the slightly longer scale length , all the ones i've seen and tried seem killer

All borne in mind - thanks! Yeah I feel they'd compliment my PRS's well. Might end up getting rid of the Ibanez, though...

You definitely need another guitar to compliment your others. I am in the same boat. I'm controlling myself for now.

I'd go for it man. You can always sell it for what it's actuay worth if it doesn't work out, assuming you don't order some really personal specs that others might not be interested in. You either end up with a great guitar for half price, or making some money selling it at it's usual price.

Good point. From what I hear these are killer guitars. He can't go wrong.
