Any opinions on them (especially Taurus Sportster)?

I just recently played a Taurus Standard. It was pretty nice but not something I'd buy. The neck was way too glossy. It sounded alright and the build quality was good, but I'd rather have a Les Paul.

I have 2 and I think they are fantastic guitars. The only thing I didnt like was the stock DiMarzios that Terry used back in 01/02. If you are looking for a LP, get an LP. If your looking for something thats got its own thing going on, then I would suggest giving one a try.

I got offered one in trade for my Caswell Marshall. Whats the going rate on one of these. I couldn't really find prices on them.

A local store has had 2 in stock, seems like he's had them for 10 years! They play great and are well made but i didn't like they way they sounded. They were very bright sounding and i really don't like bright sounding guitars.

Long time ago I played the Empress and Zodiac. Didn't like the pickups but the quality was through the roof!!!

One of my buddies in town was a dealer so I've played a few. They played nice and looked nice. Once they started getting popular they treated him like shit so he dumped them.

Its actually a Taurus Sportster with Humbuckers, not a Standard.

Are you sure it was Terry McInturff? He is one of the nicest and most gracious guitar builders I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I also wouldnt consider his guitars to ever be popular.

What color, 4 or 5a top, and trem or hardtail model?

Those DiMarzios Terry was using at the time didnt do him any favors. Like an ice pick to the ears.

The guy said this does have Dimazio Zodiac Pickups. Any idea on what its worth? If I trade and don't like it and decide to sell, I don't want to loose much on the deal.
