iMo meditation is the best form of recovery, rest and way to solve and find solutions to problems.

Whenever I have an issue or problem I come across I find nothing helps better to solve it than meditation. Whenever I am to tired or need a recovery/rest or need to solve a problem……. Meditation I find helps especially in hard to solve problems……

Definitely feel many dont actually take time to meditate in their life in general and it really is something anyone can benefit from…… best part is its free.

It helps me think better and more clearly. It isn’t easy sometimes and takes patience or other times it is easy and one just goes with a meditation but IME it usually pays off either ^_^

Touch free orgasm

But yea bro, taking time to “center yourself” so to speak can go a long way towards a more enjoyable life.
It can be guitar, religion or even just staring a lake or some trees. It all can help

A trip to the gun range, if that's your bag, is very calming. There's a lot of discipline involved and it can be personally rewarding..

The gun range reminds me of motorcycling in a lot of ways since there is a lot of focus involved but at the same time there is a certain freedom in it. Hard to describe unless you've done both.

When I took classes in PA the instructor stopped us after about 15 minutes and said “hey, since you guys started shooting, have any of you thought about your jobs or your mortgage, etc?”
And it was always unanimously “no”

Anyways, pretty sure that class was a scam lol but I moved outta state shortly after that anyways

What was the class ? Basic gun safety ? Marksmanship ? Defensive ? CCW ?

Most CCW classes, while not a scam since it does enable you to get a permit in those states that require it, are mostly useless. Honestly the main thing you get out of them is just knowledge of the laws in your state, which you can easily get from the state's website or many other internet sources.

I dunno some safety class. My wife at the time wanted to take it as a step towards getting a license, but we never received any sort of paperwork saying we completed anything

Did you enjoy it or learn anything interesting at least ?

I learned how to load and shoot a couple kinds of guns
That's something I guess. Shame it wasn't a legit or better class. There's some very good instructors out there. There's gratification in being able to hit a small target from a very long distance. Or to hit a small target, off hand, repeatedly, very quickly from shorter distances. One of the things I like to do is put several 6" or 8" steel targets out at different distances and unknown distances and do transition drills between sidearm and shotgun or rifle. Or timed transition drills with index cards and subtract time for each miss. Moving targets. Moving targets while you are also moving. Lots of cool shit.

I can’t say I got any more out of it than shooting a BB gun at a target. Shit, shooting a nerf gun at a solo cup pyramid is more satisfying imo

Well everything ain't for everybody.

You might have gotten more out of it if it was a better class. Or maybe not.

I worked at a mental health center for a few years. We had a meditation room available for patients and staff. After about a year, I spent 20 minutes of every lunch break in there and it was very positive for me.

This might seem left field, but consider reading the Tao Te Ching if you haven't already.

Can you explain in what way it was positive for you?

We worked in an frequently intense environment. I manned the front desk so I dealt with people in mental health crises daily. I am not a mental health professional. A few minutes of active meditation in a dark room devoid of any external sensory input helped keep me centered through that experience.

I haven't actively practiced that in a long time which is probably why I have too much anxiety 😅

Thanks for your answer. I don't understand what centering yourself means. It's foreign to me I think.

sometimes the wife and I do some yoga to chill before we bone.
Today I was laying on the floor staring at the ceiling and noticed a stain that kinda looks like a veiny cock and balls.

It just means letting go of your present anxieties and turbulations. For example, you might have an experience an interaction that causes you stress or anxiety. A focused session of meditation can help release those feelings rather than internalizing them. That's all.

For you, it might be a daily Scripture reading or prayer if you dont mind the assumption. I don't think these things are very different. Whatever works.

It’s really just a hippie way to say “ Take your mind off it” then ?

It seems different than (orthodox) prayer to me. Centering is like "clearing" the mind and thinking/doing nothing then? Like a shutdown of the stream of consciousness?
