Seriously, I can't say enough about these guitars. I like the Pro-Am a little better, as they are heavier and I don't mind getting a little rough with them, as opposed to the flame/quilt top Drop Top guitars.
I've never played a Pro-Am before. Do you think they play better than drop tops just because of the fact that you aren't frightened to play rough with them or do you think they play better just in general?

The Pro Am plays a little more comfortable to me. The neck is identical on all of them, but the guitar is a little heavier and balanced. Maybe it is do with the binding on the body. They are all good and his tops are great. If I buy number 5 though, it will be another Pro Am, no doubt. I like the simple switching options and don't need all the pull tone and selection for 10 types of series/parallel configurations!

Reissue with a Cantrell mod.

Steve

Super cool.

I wanted to get my reissue modded but I was told tough luck but luckily I found a original one w/Cantrell mod so I sold the reissue.

Some of those Bogner mods sure are noisy some are not...

I know a guy :D

Fortunately, the Shark doesn't need much gain dialed in to be good at what it does. This keeps the noise under control on that channel. A lot of that noise though is dependent on the tube you run in V8 as the output tube. What do you have in there? I played with tubes in V6/V7 for the Cantrell mod, and ended up with a Sovtek LPS in V6 and a Penta Chinese in V7. The LPS has a little lower output. I was thinking to try a 5751 in it to take it down a bit. When I got it delivered from Bogner, it had a 12AT7 in V8 which I think was getting loaded up and made a hell of a lot of noise. I stuck a Highgrade TAD in there and cured all that business.

:hys: You don't know Steve....

I agree the drop tops are not inferior guitars at all. The pro ams just seem to take on the play me hard, gigging and acting like your guitar doesn't belong under the bed!

Nice Steve. So we didn't steer you wrong on the Anderson's did we?

See, Tom already thought of that. Spend the money on guitars and not stands. I wondered why he put two strap buttons on the back end. It wasn't for guitar slinging options either :D

The two Drop Top Pro-Am's (left) are probably the best guitars I have ever played.....period.

In the amp rack, my two favorite Marshall's: John Suhr "Aldrich" Modded JMP (top), Martin Golub "Aldrich Lead Mod" JMP (bottom). In the FX rack, Bogner Fish with a Cantrell Mod. And, a wall of Bogner cabs.
