Yeah, if you buy them new. And the upside is the used market is very good for buyers. If I told you what I paid for my C350 you wouldn't believe me. The other upside is as long as you do the maintenance they run a long time.

My mom jut got a new vehicle; Chevy Equinox I think. The dealer told her the 2027 models will have that kill switch thing installed in it.

I don't need a new vehicle now. I like the truck I have and plan to keep it until it dies. I dread the time I'll need to get another vehicle because of all the crap they're putting in new vehicles.

Can we just go back to dumb vehicles that doesn't have all this computer bullshit installed and you can work on yourself?

I'll never buy a car with that shit in it. And I suspect if they insist on pushing it on us, car sales will slump and car makers will get rid of them. After all, I don't think anyone, including fat Dan, is stupid enough to buy a car someone else has the power to disable.

Back in 2016 when my old truck wasn't able to swim and died in a big flood I borrowed my mom's old SUV for a few days until I got my rental. Her SUV had that collision assist shit in it that almost killed me. The flood was huge and everyone was putting their debris by the street for pickup. Her vehicle registered the bags of trash and such as something I might hit and jerked me into oncoming traffic. I had to fight with the steering wheel to not have a head on collision. I just want power locks, windows & steering for convenience and even that's negotiable. Fuck all this computer controlled crap.
