I don't know many bands like these guys, but I'm sure there are some other good ones out there? Pete Lesperance is the most melodic guitar player I've ever heard. I can't believe stuff like this never got a lot of mainstream attention. The songs are so catchy, great vocals, and Pete's guitar work is incredible.

HAHA! Spent a lot of time in Toronto! My best bud was the guitar player in HS before Pete. Saw them many times. Drummer was nuts! Had some success in Japan to be sure.

I've heard they're WAY more popular in Canada than here in the States.

Great band and killer player. I always though he sounded like a cross between Vai, Nuno and Brian May ... Mood Swings is their best work IMO.
A lot of the AOR/Melodic rock bands suffer from the "2 or 3 great tracks, rest is filler" syndrome.

As far as other bands of that kind of consistent quality, I'd recommend:
Danger Danger (esp. the stuff with Paul Laine-Cockroach, Great Gildersleeves and 4 the Hard Way)
Giant- Last of the Runaways and Time to Burn (Dann Huff is the master!!)

From Melodicrock today:
HAREM SCAREM FOR US RELEASE:
US re-issue label Wounded Bird Records, in conjunction with their partnership with Warner Bros Records, will release much of Harem Scarem's back catalogue in the USA for the first time, including a number of previously Japanese only live albums and compilations.
On schedule for release September 7 at the retail price of $11 are the following Scarem classics: Harem Scarem, Voice of Reason, Big Bang Theory & Believe. Compilations: Live at the Siren, Last Live, Ballads, Rocks, B-Side Collection, Live Ones.
Mood Swings is not part of the campaign as it is still in print in Canada.

Not exactly a band but man i love me some Neil Zaza. This guys is melody.

I have the two Danger Danger albums with Andy Timmons, definitely good stuff. Also enjoyed those Neil Zaza videos, I'll have to check out more of his stuff.

Hey Mark, have you got the latest Danger Danger album - 'Revolve'?

It's got Rob Marcello on guitar and it's a great album!
