Midwest. The petroleum mafia around here is ridiculous. I just don’t see a reason for the ridiculous price swings we get. It went up 60 cents/gal yesterday and half the stations dropped 20 cents today while the rest stayed up. If the typical behavior sticks, the rest will drop 20 cents tomorrow because they are losing sales. Then they will all drop 20 more the next day. The price changes are asymmetric as hell and “supply and demand” doesn’t seem to be the defining factor it should be. 🤷
Has stayed steady around here. I’m paying less than $3.00 for 93 octane.

The order also protects domestic production of phosphorus, which is used in making glyphosate and other agricultural chemicals, as well as a range of other products, including some in military defense.
Considering the fact that NPK has been the gold standard for fertilising plants since Adam was a boy (organic methods excepted), I'd say that for this reason alone the protection makes sense.

Don't worry the "businessman" has it all taken care of.

Do you not know the difference between retirement investing and day trading. You just post a single day view. C'mon man, you can' be that misinformed. Do you really think this is how 401Ks work or are you just an echo chamber? Additionally, most 401ks are based on index funds across the DOW, NASDAQ and S&P

We routinely have wild swings. Typically it goes up about 30 cents all at once and slowly ratchets back down. Lately, the swings are more severe 50 / 60 cents. I can’t find any valid reason for it 🤷

Astute observation, albeit not likely relevant…
Our metro has a pipeline from Tejas & more than one refinery so our gas prices usually are somewhat stable.
Funny everyone blamed Biden for gas prices a year ago is that not a thing anymore LOL.

Funny you didn’t but you damn sure blamed Bush for gas prices in 05. Never mind that they were double that under Obama.

Oh? Because I remember it being CONSISTENTLY over $3 a gallon. Sometimes close to $4.
Maybe take the day off from being the stupidest mother fucker on earth. Give someone in "New Zealand" the reins for a while.
