Hate to bump this but I just received my first indication of the year about finances:
Turned in my taxes 2 weeks ago and receptionist asked for an account # to deposit my refund. I laughed and told her the last several years I've owed about 3 grand in federal and 1,500 state, no chance of refund. No prepayment and nothing withheld.
Just got a call, told me I had a refund coming and needed that number!

I've paid in for least 6-7 years in a row thanks to capital gains and other factors, but won't have a ton of that for 2025. I've tried to balance as close to zero as possible, but if someone has to give the other an interest free loan, I'd rather the govt give me one!

Sure would be nice to have a refund for a change.

Anyway, this is a time for stock market bargains. Simple rule: Buy Low, Sell High. I'm setting things up.
