I am now running a old 2 channel Rev F dual rectifier I have only a few pedals. I would like to do is add a boost and a overdrive like the Bogner Ecstasy pedal or something so I can have more tonal options if need be. I also like the fulltone GT500 and tubescreamer ts808 DX any other ideas?

Love the OCD but its a little too creamy lol but its a good pedal

Airis Effects Chaos or Brutal drive...excellent pedals at unbelievable prices. I've been running one with my 95 Rev G and its KILLER!!!!

+1 for the maxon od808
Bad monkey for cheap
mxr custom badass od.
Barber direct drive
Pretty much any tube screamer or copy

What's the difference between the Ts and the maxon?

The Maxon is EXTREMELY transparent. Just gives you more of what you want without coloring your sound.

So is that something I run all the time? And can I use gain with the Mesas gain?

Dude, the SD 805 overdrive is pretty awesome. Sounds great on a clean channel and was designed to work awesome as a boost. 3 band active eq and drive and level. Kind of the classic 808 type but wayyy more clear sounding. Bet it would sound awesome with a recto.

This might be a stupid question but why boost with an overdrive when I can boost with a boost and whats the difference between a volume boost and the Maxon Od808?

I'd boost it with these. Lots of boost. Like a lot...

Plain boost boosts everything equal.
TS type tightens up low end and helps give a midrange grind.
You end up with different voiced results between the 2 types.

Yea I find an OD works way better than a clean boost if your trying to tighten up the amp, obviously.

Oh so I can tighten it up for metal purposes and then disengage it for grunge stuff?

Maxon OD-808

Haha is this boogie board? What are some settings i'd run the second channel with this

Gain 9:00
Volume: 3:00 to full up
Tone: 3:00 to full-up

Realistically, any tubescreamer type pedal will work, but the OD808 is the classic choice. For whatever reason it blends a little better with the Recto's natural sound and if feels like you're playing through a single unit instead the pedal-into-an-amp feel that some pedals produce.

Well I will order one as soon as I get new tubes and some other things done with it
