Exactly.....The Tremoverb Clean and Blues channel sound great with the 6L6. The Red and Orange have a deeper bass that you can tighten up with a Tube Screamer.skoora":3r7qflul said:stephen sawall":3r7qflul said:To be honest any Tube Screamer makes the bass tighter than a tube change.
This. EL34's will change the characteristics of the mids and top end more. A slight reduction in bass but very slight. It's enough of a change in my T-Verb I wish I could have two amps just to have the change in sound ready to go. But I do think for all the sounds a T-Verb can do I've found 6L's the best overall choice. Love playing surf rock on the clean channel with the reverb up.
I ran these for awhile. They have aggressive highs and more bass than a EL34. Sounded great for the point of breakup stuff and highgain.Beyond Black":3r7qflul said:I ordered a quad of JJ KT77’s from Eurotubes. I’ve liked those in every amp I’ve tried them in, so we’ll see how they are in a Dual.
Currently I have some NOS GT6L6S Slovakian and GT6L6 GE USA a friend bought in the 90's in my Tremoverb that sound super fat with smooth highs.
All this stuff is very subjective. Very dependant on the rest of the rig and what styles you play.
