If the amp you're looking at is a newer Multi-Watt, that's arguably the best Recto made. Buy it. If I could only have one amp, and I've had at least 20 Boogies, it'd be a Triple Multi-Watt.

Check out these speaker comparo I did with my Rectos-

Comparing 3 different Mesa V30 cabs- https://youtu.be/GCp-CsJzyOw

Comparing V30 vs. G12T-75 vs. GB- https://youtu.be/JITmyLJ12z4

The 75s do sound good, if you can push them..

You mean g12m if they're 25s

yeah 30s Exo - my bad. Model 1982 not 1987 = 50wt. head.

there was a brief period late 60's when there was a 25watt H-mag..very brief.

there's a used Std. on Rvb for $500 - if cones are orig. & well broken-in...if..if..if..

so Mesa rolls their own V30 spec ?

There is 5 Vintage 30 I know about...

T3903 Standard 8 ohm
T3904 Standard 16 ohm
T3987 Marshall OEM 16 ohm
T4416 Mesa OEM 16 ohm
T4335 Mesa OEM 8 ohm

I prefer Rectos with Orange 4x12's, either all V30 or V30/Creamback mix, either 65 or 75 - both sound killer with Rectos

I've compared them side by side with Mesa Traditional 4x12 and still like the Orange - seems to just be clearer and not so dark.

As others have said, I like mine better with my Marshall cab than my Mesa cab. It's a little brighter and open sounding, while still being tight. The Mesa cab is a perhaps a tad bit more tight, but it is also darker and a tad more focused.

T4335 Mesa OEM 8 ohm

I believe this is all the versions...

T3896 8 ohm Original Marshall Labeled

T3897 16 ohm Marshall labeled

T3903 8 ohm Celestion Labeled

T3904 16 ohm Celestion Labeled

T4335 8 ohm Mesa Labeled

T4416 16 ohm Mesa Labeled

T5321 16 ohm Marshall Mode Four

These are all slightly different sounding Vintage 30.

"When you change the impedance rating of the speaker, you also change the inductance of the coil which changes the resonant frequency among other things. So if you have 2 identical amps and 2 identical cabs - one cab loaded with 8 ohm speakers and amp set to 8 next to one loaded with 16 ohm speakers and amp set to 16, they will sound noticeably different. The 16 ohm rig will usually sound brighter and deeper."

T3896 G12V 8 Ohm Vintage 30, Marshall label, 70w, 444 cone

T3897 G12V 16 Ohm Vintage 30, Marshall label, 70w, 444 cone

T3903 Vintage 30 8 Ohm cone stamp – 444 (standard specification)

T3904 Vintage 30 15 Ohm cone stamp – 444 (standard specification)

T4335 Vintage 30 8 Ohm cone stamp – 444 – Old original spec – now Mesa OEM

T4416 Vintage 30 16 Ohm cone stamp – 444 – Old original spec – now Mesa OEM

T5321 G12 Vintage MF 16 Ohm Custom designed for use in Marshall MF series cabs. G12-CV60.

I have always preferred other cabs with Mesa heads. My favorite was a Mojo 4x12 with 2 Hellatone 60L's and 2 VHT P50-E's. That cabinet always sounded great to my ears with a Dual Rec, a Triple Rec, a Lonestar Classic, a Mark III, A Mark IV, and probably some other amp that I can't recall. I could never dial in a good tone with a Mesa cab. I've heard plenty of other people do it, but I just couldn't. There was always something that was too much, treble or bottom.
