Both cabs loaded with V30's. Has anyone spent anytime with both cabs? I'm curious to see what the opinions are.

The Mesa is a much more heavy duty construction with a stiffer baffle. The Bogner is intended to be a refined but accurate vintage cab design. The mesa is bare on the inside while the bogner has a lot of damping material. The Mesa will have more wiring options on the back panel and their Celestions are UK-made. Im not sure about the origins of Bogner's current speakers.

I'm actually borrowing a Bogner 4x12 so i can compare it to my Mesa Standard 4x12. I have some early opinions but i need to keep playing them. I'm using a Shiva 20th.

Again, i haven't spent a whole lot of time on them but from what I've heard i think the Mesa is better for metal but the Bogner sounds better for everything else. More highs and deep lows on the Mesa, more and sweeter mids on the Bogner.

Hmmm... you didn't like my TGP approved answer ? :D

I think most of the difference you're hearing is the difference between the Mesa V30s and standard V30s in the Bogner (oh no, not that again). Swapping the speakers would tell you for sure.

I never did a side by side comparison but I do have a Bogner slant 4x12 with V30's and its the best one in my stash of 4x12'sthat include Marshall, Splawn, VHT and Soldano. The Bogner sounds good with whatever head I plug into it.

I agree. I thought the Bogner made the Boogie sound really metallic when I had them. Granted, I had the oversized Boogie but I also owned a Mesa 2x12 and thought the same thing. The Bogner cab is excellent.

Yeah, it's a Mesa so it HAS to suck right. :D

When I tried them both, the Bogner was better suited for the 80's type stuff, while the Mesa did the 90's type more aggressive stuff, better.

Based on my experience, I want to buy a Bogner straight 4x12, but cannot get a straight answer about whether the standard Bogner 4x12 is the exact same construction as a Ubercab 4x12, when they are both empty (with no speakers installed). It seems like everyone that I find for sale is an Uber.........but I don't know for sure that they are the same as the "Standard" 4x12, that I tried out.

mesa cabs sounded tighter to control bigger boogie low end--vht cab also sound this way to me--diezel was sorta between vht and marshall

bogner cabs have a looser more resonant feel to sweeten the top end of amps

went shopping for a 4x12 with my egnater tol 100 head-mesa recto, marshall greenback and 75 cab, and the bogner uberkab is where i landed--and i believe the uberkab and the standard cab is identical except for the speakers.
mojave cabs are the most similar in tone to bogners i've found.

now only one v30 remains from the original uberkab speakers-greenback/gh30/scumback and it sounded great with the two rock cleans and dirty, and my mojave peacemaker

I recently spoke with someone at Boogner, and according to what my internal contact said, they are exactly the same except that the standard 4x12 comes with V30's and the Uberkab comes with V30's and T75's. That was upon their creation and up until a while ago, nowadays the Uberkabs are front loaded, which adds another small difference. Construction dimensions and presence and application of sound absorbent foam is identical (supposed).

Nonsense, Recto cabs are loose sounding with scooped mids. I read it on the internet
