Hi there all! New to the forums, and just had a question. I currently own a Mesa Dual Rectoverb 25. I'm in love with the cleans and vintage tone, but not so much of the heavier modern tone. Also I'm more of a fan of EL34's, and have seen the newer Triple Crown that Mesa has to offer. I'm really interested in it however I'm also really loving the the sound of the Bogner Shiva. I was wondering if you guys could probably tell me which you prefer and why and some experiences you've had with one or the other, thanks!

Little bit out about my music gear and style: I play a Fender American Pro Strat, and play pretty much anything from clean Jazz or Classical, to prog and heavy metal. Was never really into OD pedals because I like my gain coming from the amp.

Welcome to the forum.
I don't know anything about that Mesa, but if you are wanting all the gain right on the amp you will need the 20th Anniversary Shiva for those heavy tones.
Good luck in your search!

I don't think I've seen any NAD for the Triple Crown yet. The online clips sound great but I don't know of anyone who has one. Would love to hear some first hand account to though.

I have a MESA TC50 and love it. Sounds great at any volume level and is so easy to dial in. 3 channels and takes EL34, 6v6 and 6L6. Not sure why more people don't have this amp. Sorry, cant compare to the Shiva however.

All shiva's are not created equal

if you are talking original stock Shiva ,the Lo channel with the gain backed off would get closest to that
If it the Shiva Kt88 with the boost engaged thats more into the Hi gain territory of Blue
Red with the gain up would have significantly more saturation kinda like a Recto orange in a way but without the low end punch , and a lot tighter than the rectos

its a good question because the New Shiva Kt will cover a lot of the same ground ,clean ,Crunch ,higain , lead

the Mesa IMO is a lil less hi fi sounding on the clean due o the tubes and if your an el34 guy I think you'll dig the rock tones
its mega versatile with it Midi and per channel sounding reverb that is great to
