Subliminal much?I think it was try acid
lol lolSubliminal much?
I think it was try acid but they started using recto in here some where near this time so idk
Also used mark ivs on live shit before this
It started before but that is when they fully clogged the toiletAs soon as they started mixing in the diezel, the tone started going to shit
Yeah not a fan of their 90’s tone at all. Has no sharp edge to it. Too loose. Makes every song sound like it’s skirt is being held back by a couple of sado-masochistic midgets.Much prefer James's C++ graphic EQ and Aphex parametric EQ double scooped late 80s tone. His Load tone lacked fibre:

That is awfully specific.

I thought it was interesting that on Garage Days (90’s one), they got much better tones than on Load and Reload.

They blended up to NINE amps at once on certain tracks. Insane.Pretty sure they mixed in the Jose Marshall and a Wizard but I agree those tones were incredible
I thought they were great all the times I’ve seen them from ‘85 thru ‘96 but FWIW I wasn’t analyzing their technical abilitiesthey are not a good live band
They’re still a great show minus fractalsI thought they were great all the times I’ve seen them from ‘85 thru ‘96 but FWIW I wasn’t analyzing their technical abilities
It’s a great tone !Half of that album was tuned to drop C or C# standard, honestly cant remember. Also the drums sound like they were recorded in the local gas station bathroom. The mid late 90s tone was peak metallica for me.
I know S&M was heavily pitched and polished in a studio, but James tone on that DVD was something I chased every day as a teenager
I love the st anger tone I swear. It’s so big and crushingThis is what happens when drugs take Techdeth
Funny thing is, people thought Metallica was terrible then. Little did they know what would come 20 years later. I honestly think many of the Load songs are good and have aged well. Sure, there's stinkers on that album (Mama Said, Ronnie, etc.), but much better than anything on 72 Seasons.
