I expected that to conclude he is a mummy from the dynasty following whichever one Kieth Richards is from.

LOL!

I never saw them live, but I love hearing Mick's great live tone, because his recorded tone on SATD was sooooooo thin. Almost ruined the record for me back then.
I remember listening to that album for the first time on vinyl on a good stereo system and I thought it was thhhhhhick. But relative to other stuff in the 80's or other Crue albums I see what you are saying. Too Fast for Love was way thinner though no?

Not the best lead player but he wrote some amazing rythms and was such an underrated part of their sound. Also agree that his live tone was one if not the best I have ever heard. Huge fat crunch cut.
Agreed.

Mick’s live tone on their last tour was killer. Maybe the best live heavy rock tone I’ve ever heard. I like Mick, think he’s underrated.
Totally agreed. I missed that final tour but from the clips I heard - his tone was very good. Now kicking myself for not making that even though Vince Neil's voice was borderline unbearable. Poor guy. Luckily, I don't listen to Crue, or most other rock/metal music, for the lyrics or singing. I'm in it for the guitar.

Good one.

Lucky for both of them, Mick and Kieth were able to crank out great guitar tones until they were 65 and 75 respectively.

Also, major kudos to Mick for dealing with all the touring despite his condition.

For most of his professional career, Mars has openly struggled with ankylosing spondylitis,[8] a chronic, inflammatory form of arthritis that mainly affects the spine and pelvis. It was initially diagnosed when he was 17 years old and has increasingly impaired his movement and has caused him a great deal of pain.
