The changes to the SLO sound appropriate. Would either of the updates affect the tone in any way?

Adding DC heaters and changing the loop to instrument level?

I think the location of the loop is being changed as well (though I could be wrong). I personally think the loop circuit and the tube involved is a part of THAT sound. If the design is the same, and the current loop is just closed (but not removed) and a SS loop is placed between the preamp and power amp, then it could be VERY good.

^ I assume they’re smart enough to do that. That’s how Suhr and others have “fixed” the SLO for a long time now. Just leave the stock loop in the circuit but don’t use it, and install a second loop in the normal spot in the circuit.
