I searched for related threads prior to posting this and didn't find anything. So, here it is.
Any thoughts from Egnater Module owner's on a module (or a module with a mod) that could get some of the VHT flavor.
To be much more specific, I've upoaded a clip of the type of VHT tones I'm looking for.
I strung these together from clips from various VHT websites. The clips are all played by Brian Kahanek before he switched over to Elmwood Amps. The first two sections are a 58 relic Les Paul. The rest were done with various strat style guitars.
Since I love this type of tone - My descriptors would be: woody, chewey, tight etc,.
Splawn owners everywhere I'm sure would hate it and describe it as: dry, scratchy, no sizzle.
Either way - for better or for worse, that's what I'm looking for. I'm fairly set on just buying the VHT Sig:X and waiting for the E2 to get me some Egnater goodness in there with it - probably the T/D and VX or SL modules.
I don't play high gain. It's all about SRV, Rory Gallagher stuff for me.
I'd like the VHT as the go to tone, with the option of hitting some real blackface fender cleans (which I'm not convinced the VHT can achieve) as well as some Hendrix style Marshall cleans (Bold as love intro.)
I'd love to be able to just go all out with an M4 and get it over with, but if I can't get that VHT tone, I don't think I'll be satisfied.
I'm not stuck on VHT for any particular reason other than it has a very unique tone which I have not heard or even seen an attempt to copy.
Any thoughts are welcome and appreciated.
thanks
Nick
