I was part of that DoubleTrouble/the Jam 28 years ago (left side/Homer Simpson shirt)
Apparently he didn't had much clothes for this clinic tour 😁

As most of you stated here, his tone and sound got worse over the years.
I liked it with the Lee Jackson modded Marshalls, I liked it with the ADA preamps (Extreme Vol I & II)
I liked it with the Ampeg Lee Jackson VL1002 (1993) and with the Laneys.

Maybe its because he became nearly deaf and using hearing aid

His current setup produce some beautiful Robin Trower tones. First three tunes on this video-

One thing we can all agree on, he has always dressed terribly and is a total dork BUT he rips when he has the right backline :D

in the 80s i remember talk about ada and ampeg v4 half stacks because i had a V4 half stack back then.

When I saw Racer X in Oakland, at the Omni, after Paul and Jeff had quit, Bruce was using an ADA MP-1 into a couple of Ampeg bass heads, and some Marshall 4x12s. He still sounded great.

I was waiting to hear some version of "Show Your Love"
Drummer plays in the pocket like Alex.

Nothing negative about Mr. Big.......just sayin

Totally agree about his tone recently, probably one of my least favourites versus how amazing a player they (still) are.

I've noticed a lot of players who are getting on a bit now; PG, Lynch, Angus and Slash from memory who are for some reason using less gain nowadays despite age slowing us all down.

Why make it hard on yourself? Haha!
