Tried to get a ride in before the rain last Wednesday but broke my chain after a quarter mile of riding. I split the links in two places. So I took my bike to the shop and found out the front bearings wore out so bad it was causing misalignment and that is why I broke the chain....

I'm sitting in my living room watching the deluge.... it is pouring really strongly....whew!

Bike will be ready tomorrow, but it's supposed to rain until Tuesday. It will be a mud fest for a while.... oh well...

Well, I did it....

Full carbon frame, Ohlins front fork, three-way rear shock lockout, carbon rims, tubeless, electronic shifting. There is no way I could have afforded this before the blowout pricing. The sad thing is my local dealer will no longer carry Scott. They will still service Scott bikes as well as other brands, but they will no longer be a dealer...

Got my first ride on my new bike last night. It was an evening ride, had to use my lights. I thought there were going to be other bikers on the trail. But, I saw none.... that was a little scary. The trail was still a bit muddy after our recent rains, but rideable. I avoided the steeper and chunkier routes since I was alone.
My takeaways:
1. Never ride alone at dark. It's just not a good idea. I'm not doing it anymore...
2. My new bike is light and snappy. It responds instantly. I didn't think there would be this much difference from my Spark 960. But there was a big difference! Holy smokes! The Geniuls 910 Super Trail is killer!
3. The ride was plush, but not soft. I didn't feel beat up, but the bike still gave wonderful feedback. I always felt in control.
4. My new bike can climb even though it has more travel and a slacker geometry.
5. 29x2.6 tubeless tires are very grippy and responsive...
6. Electronic shifting is awesome!

Anyway, I had a blast even though I was scared of being alone in certain sections. Look forward to more rides!
