Just curious where everyone prefers their MXR phase 90's. So I thought I would do a poll.

Check Robert Keeley's website, I think he's got a FAQ section where he suggests an effects order for what he would consider optium performance.

But strictly speaking, there are no rules .... experiment you might like it somewhere other than what others do !

Have Fun !

I think it depends on the amp. It seemed to work better in the loop for some heads and out front in others.

I use mine in front of the amp but after my OD and whammy pedal.

I always prefer phasers after dirt. There's a lot of really neat stuff that happens when the dirty signal hits the phaser.

I am aware of the general guidelines and that I can put it where I want. The point of this thread is to see what others are doing.... :D

I tried it many ways, but I liked it in front of the amp. I have it right after any dirt.

This

Mine is placed in the beginning right after the wah but before the OD.

I like them in front of the amp after a distortion pedal, or in the loop if I'm using the preamp for distortion.
One favorite tone of mine is a DOD FX-69 "Grunge" pedal (on it's own total crap) into an MXR Phase 90 then to a clean amp. The FX-69 is so gainy and nasty it's almost white noise, making the phase effect seem huge.

After any preamp or distortion pedals, but in front of the amp...

I did some experimenting with my EVH phase 90. I was running it in the effects loop of my mark IV, but I think I like it better out front. I first tried it after my dirt boxes and it sounded very good, even when I got the dirt from the amp. I then tried it before the dirt boxes and that is where I liked it the best.

I am going to keep moving it around a bit, but I think its an improvement out front. Its like a got a brand new pedal.

With it before the dirt boxes, I can get some psuedo Univibe sounds with the speed up. I am GASing for a univibe, so hopefully this will help keep the GAS under control.

I will, there is a few months wait for the Sweet Sound Mojovibe, I suppose I should just order now, even though I don't have the coin at the moment.....
