A friend and I decided to start an Aerosmith tribute band. We are going to test out a few tunes on an upcoming gig this Sunday.

This will be my rig;

Guitar: MIK Mockingbird
Amp: my 2204 build
1X12 cab loaded with a EMI V1218
Assorted pedals...

Aerosmith tribute rig

I'll report after the gig...

That’s so awesome. I love those crunchy classic Aerosmith tones . I’d love to see this

Cool rig! Covering Tyler sounds like it would be the hardest part, that's awesome that you have somebody that can.

I'll ask my gf to record some clips.

We will testing these out:
Adam's apple
No more, no more
Last Child
Nobody's Fault

What pedal for the leads in Nobodys Fault? That's a killer lead tone right there.

Nice rig, here is the guitar you need. 78 Koa 10 string

Nux XTC OD

It is a very underrated pedal imo...

Volume at noon
Gain at 9:30
Tone at 9

Into a crunchy 2204 and it's bliss!

Using my RMC picture wah on that one

ive actually been rocking their unplugged lately which i didnt know existed. perry and whitford are among the all time greats that dont get the credit they deserve. good luck on your band

I always thought I’d be a killer Brad Whitford in a tribute. Need to lose a few pounds to get into those clothes tho. Aerosmith is so fun to play. Great music.

I been using my Mesa Electrodyne to get early Aerosmith tones . Like the gritty tones off first 2 albums

Perry and Whitford were the first guys I ever remember being gear whores. One minute it was a Les Paul, next was a Rich Bich or a Eagle, Mockingbird, maybe a Strat with a lefty neck? Amps, jeez….too many to count. But those tones on those albums in the 70’s can’t be beat.
I really want to hear how you guys sound Fusionbear.

Awesome!! Hope you guys do the whole "Rocks" album. Freakin' love that one!

i have a few old guitar worlds where their gear is listed as "anything and everything", maybe thats why we dont see all that much talk of them on forums, its not like they really have a defining tone

That’s actually a good point. The tones were constantly changing. I’d love to know how they got the “Rocks and Toys” tones. Some seriously great guitar sounds.
