So I am still recovering from surgery but got an itch to hear how all these boosts I have acquired sound in front of a single amp. I am a HUGE believer that not all boosts and amps work together and that when people say "Which is the best boost for XXX amp" there's no right answer. I think tis illustrates that as some people seem to really dig the ones I find least appealing with the BE.

I tried to play the same riff over and over with some chugs, some chords and a little lead line.

Pedals are (in order):
• Fortin Blade
• Iconic I-Scream
• Airis Tight Scream
• Lichtlaerm Aesahattr
• Deadweald Duality
• Friedman Buxom
• Wizard Leopard
• Fortin Hex

Nice man, always great to see your vids.
Thanks so much! I couldn't sit in my office chair as I had surgery oil my abdomen and had a drain coming out of my belly! LOL! I kind of like standing for the vids...

Lichtlaerm, Buxom and Hex sounded the coolest to me. That Lichtlaerm seems really nice.

No nothing too serious. I lost about 140 pounds 6 years ago. I had a surgery last year to remove some excess skin and my scar healed poorly, so had to have it corrected. Thanks!

Yeah, those and the Airis are some of my favorite. Kicking myself that I forgot the Ghoul Screamer.

The Lichtlaerm is awesome with the Fryett, Friedman AND KSR. One of the few that sounds good with everything (IMHO). Funny, I dig the Blade with ,y KSR, not at all with the Friedman. Hex is just killer.

Very cool. The Lichtlaerm and the Hex were my favorites. The Leopard stays closest to the core tone. It’s always nice to have a pedal around that does that too.

I Scream and Buxom Boost stood out to me. Hex Drive not too shabby. Disliked the Blade.

Nice vid, I think that Lichtlaerm Aesahattr sounds killer.

yeah I was really impressed by the Lichtlaerm stuff they sent out in the tour box. Their Amber Spyglass EQ is AWESOME in the loop of an amp.

Yeah I don't love the Blade here either. The I-Scream is a sleeper pedal for sure. I know Iconic isn't a household name for guitars but they build some killer stuff. I have a full demo of that on my channel as well as the Lichtlaerm.

Thanks man! yeah I love that pedal. Sounds great with all my amps. It rips with my P90 Les Paul. I posted a vid here of it last week I think.

Great demo! That Lichtlaerm was my fave. Damn i need another boost like i need another butthole....

Nic demo Jer...yeah, without seeing others' posts, I liked in this order

1) Lichtlaerm
2) Buxom

Great vid man, you’ve got me looking at the Iconic more and more

Thanks man! I love Kevin’s work. His guitars are amazing and I think he came out strong with this as a first pedal.

I bumped up my demos for some of the other pedals as well.

Two things:

1)
I am a HUGE believer that not all boosts and amps work together and that when people say "Which is the best boost for XXX amp" there's no right answer.
Totally agree.

2) That RR24 is tits!

Ha! Great minds, eh!

Here is my take away

- The Fortin Blade was my least favorite by far.

- The two pedals that surprised me the most were the Iconic I-Scream and the Wizard. The iconic because I thought it sounded good and didn't really know what to expect from it so I can't tell you why I am surprised by it but I am (In a good way). The Wizard surprised me because I expected it would sound better than it did. To me, the Wizard was the second worse pedal behind the Fortin Blade as top honors there.

- Airis Tight Scream was my favorite taking the win here. Second place was really close but for this video I give it to the Friedman Buxom Boost.

- Very close third place and in some situations I could see these pedals taking second or possibly even first place was the Lichtlaerm Aesahattr, Deadweald Duality and the Fortin Hex. I heard bits and pieces in the three of them that I really liked and if I were to spend some time with them I could definitely see them going up the charts easily, especially with various amps and guitars etc. and possibly even toppling the Airis Tight Scream as the best.

I could live with them all minus the Fortin Blade if I had to.

Cool video, thank you for sharing!

Thanks for checking it out!

I agree about the Blade here. It’s honestly not great with a lot of my amps so I sold it. I’m working on a vid about how people need to stop asking “Which boost is best for X?”

The Wizard CRUSHED with my KSR but not my favorite with the Friedman. I think a lot of cats but pedals and boosts based on this very question but then post how the pedal sucks and all that. Just like amps, it’s the whole equation. The Lichtlaerm literally sounds great with all my amps and speakers. Not the case with many others.

I understand. I also think there are a lot of people out there not opening up their amps a bit and trying to use a pedal to get where the opened up amp would typically be. That is a tough road to travel there. I am really interested in the Lichtlaerm Aesahattr, Deadweald Duality pedals. I think there could be pure gold hidden in them in the right situation. Another interesting pedal is the Highwind Amplification Direwolf Overdrive. I would enjoy spending some time with those three. I do have to admit that most times I am not a boost user and mainly get my sounds from the amp and at times an Empress Para-EQ.
