I have no idea what he rants on about other guys. I am sure he does.

if only metroamp forum didn't crash a while back - the entertainment value in blades posts was
truly epic
I hear the stories.
Not sure when the slander was going down.
I never seen the rants. Hahaha

Wait. You mean you really did not see the rants or are you just saying that?

No I swear on my life. I never seen the melt downs.
I only hang out in this board. I heard about him. But never read the stuff as it happened .

Fair enough. I've got to hit the sack for an early rise but if you are interested I saved some of the best of it. I can post it tomorrow if you want a LOL.

Anyway, glad to hear you got your problem rectified whatever was wrong and that Mr Blades is interested in turning things around.

It's all good. Again I don't like looking backward in life.
If I kept dragging up all the shit I did in the past...
Haha would make blades look like a saint. ;)
That's all in the past. Can't move forward when your looking backward

Call me crazy but the crazy gimmick lights and cutouts have grown on me. Definitely seeing better quality head shells now compared to the early ones despite the crazy colors. Honestly, that orange and yellow heads hell with the tiger print is awesome! I would love that thing. Tone wise, I will be honest, these amps sound really really good to my ear. Might be how they are tuned but they seem to speak to me more than the BE or a bogner. My only complaint would be the slowly increasing price point. If you started building to give people more for less and that was your whole premise, you really should try to stick to it.

I believe his rants were also on TGP, Marshall forum....if he was truly a wanna be wrestler then he handled his coming out party the same way some of those guys act out certain ways lol.....we aren't a crowd that would dig that. It would have been ok until he got personal with Friedman , Fortin etc....no need and no reason. Plenty of guys that are very supportive and thankful to those two for their contribution to their gear/tone. That's what pissed most off here, along with other things. I'm sure though, if I had it in front of me, it would sound good.

Yeah guys. I appreciate all the feedback. He came out the ring yelling foul. He told me that. But that was then this is now. Guy really is pretty cool to talk to. If you were in a bar having a beer together I am sure he would fit in.
Again back to the note. I can't answer for what he said. And I don't really care if he said he banged my sister.
I truly respect the service and communication he gave me. Other builders/modders that were mentioned here that he "ripped off" never gave 2 shits about what I asked or said.
Now to me? That speaks a million dollars.
Ymmv.

Hope he sells tons of amps. Seems he has really made efforts to up his game and I enjoy seeing the Internet haters pissed.

I have no real interest in a Blades, nor do I care about his whole start and where he is now. To me, it has only made for great internet reading. I will say this though, most amp builders can start out with the best of intentions on selling at a low price point only to find if you really want to make a living selling amps, the price has to move up. It's one thing to think you can build amps for cheaper in your basement than Bogner, Friedman, Suhr, <insert high priced boutique amp company here>, does it, but once you actually have to move amps and turn a profit, the business model changes.

Again, great internet reading. Can't get enough of these Blades threads. It's ironic that the most popular topics are the ones where people are hating on the builder, thus generating internet buzz and defeating the purpose of the hate.

I get what you and others are saying. I like to forgive as well. However, it is hard sometimes to forget. Again, I don't want to bring down your thread with negativity. I was mainly just thinking out loud about the whole profit margin perspective and that maybe he knows you post here a lot and it would be a good opportunity for some good press. Nothing wrong with that.

That said, I'm sure you knew when you created this thread that would cause some controversy

Yeah, I have tons of threads and quotes saved on the matter from here, Marshallforum, GAB, etc.

Is his name really Barry Gretsch? Because if so, you responded to a blog of sorts that he wrote. Roughly 18th post in this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=172864

I also see you posted in some of the other big Blades threads so I'm not sure how you can say you were unaware of the rants. :dunno: OK man - I won't jumble up your thread with any more crap. Hope he turns things around for real and for the long haul.

He said he would take care of any of his Amps and owners. Used or new. He us actually selling quite a bit of amps.

Well although he came across as a huge ass wipe on the forums with his childish rants slamming pretty much everyone in the business, I give the guy credit. At least he is making and selling amps ugly they may be!!!

I don't see why someone doesn't just send one of his amps to Ceriatone to clone. You'd get peace of mind. And Blades should be totally ok with it since copying someone else's amp is totally fine in his book. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one to map the circuit and throw the schematic up for all to see. Honestly, it's probably not that different from a lot of amps. Most likely just simple value changes here and there for voicing. Guitar amps in this realm are not that different from one another. Merely voicing changes.

Good point.. I also was thinking more about it and you are right, once you start buying in bulk, getting chassis and other parts made/sourced outside your buddy jimbo who let's you use his metalshop on the weekend, you run into higher costs. Considering his cabinets seem to have improved, it might be costing him 100$ more per unit for decent tolex and cab work.

If you can build it and deliver within 2 weeks, then you win! Easy as that. Example of delivery (Friedman) Example of not, (King/Cameron and many small builders).

Now how you get to the amp you sell is where we all differ in what is acceptable and what is not. In the end its all 50's technology that has been tweaked but never patented or owned by any builder!

I put a patent on that technology back in 1985.
Everyone has been ripping me off. Court case coming up soon.
I patented a amp with gain. I am owned millions.

Your just like the masses....no one owns shit when it comes to the basics of an amp. Now all your little ideas and switches and tubes and shit like that different story. but a clean amp or a dirty amp...free game!

I am the first guy to put rubber feet on the amp to prevent vibration.
Gonna sue everyone as well for stealing my idea.

All high gain amps sound the same, so the first one should sue all the others and make millions.
