Love it when the jealousy remarks come out.....Fuckin awesome collection...I wanna be your friends friend too!!

How is it jealousy? Great amp collection, but like I said, I just don't understand having so many of the same thing.

With the old amps even more so than today in a lot of cases every amp has it's own sound. I would say the main reason to have a collection like this is it is a investment. Some of my vintage stuff has tripled in value in the last 7 years.

People collect all kinds of useless stuff .... I would use this stuff.

Thanks for sharing Brad.

Nice wall!!! I don't get why he would own 20+ fender, but to each its own. impressive for sure

must be a BITCH to retube tho. I bet the guy pays somebody to make his amp's inventory.

Anyone see the coffee coaster that looks like a vintage Fneder combo amp :aww:

I can only imagine how amazing and warm the clean sounds coming out of those old Fenders are...and the Marshalls are awesome too! Someday I hope to add a couple of true vintage instruments to my collection.

What's really amazing is that those amps have all been modded by Mark Cameron with his high gain Jose mod!

WOW! Staggering is a bit of an understatement

That is crazy! I love it.

Think of it like this:

Paid $400/each-- Worth $2000/each

Does it make more sense now?

Come on Brad, you were at the Fender factory.

That is friggin' amazing! I literally think some guys on TGP would have one of those over 4 hours need to see a doctor moments seeing that pic. Very cool.

joke of the day - Fender called, they want their amps back.

or, "Fender wants their museum back". :D

Sweet collection. Have any friends who collect vintage Vox amps, Brad? Lemme know. ;)

I'd rather see them spread out a bit across some studios and lucky stages across the nation. It's a bit like garages full of Ferraris that never touch the road.

Good investment and awesome scene? Oh Yes.
Keeping tons of awesome amps out of musical circulation? Oh Yes.

OK....I think I'll get some of the flames being aimed at japetus now!.............

I kind of feel the same way and have sold off most of my rare collector type guitars since I can only play one at a time, but it is a great investment.

I always thought if you had great gear and you dont want to sell it, rent it out for studio use but some people are so careless that your gear may be devalued and abused so the net gain is lost in the end. Ever heard the expression uttered by someones wife "this is why we cant own nice things." because the husband thrashes everything, It is good that some of this stuff is being kept secure and safe by private collectors. Every guitar or amp ever made will go up for sale at least once in a lifetime, we are only temporary stewards of our possesions.

So once again there is no real right or wrong answer.

I dont see it as Jealousy Brian and as far as amps go, I dont see the point of having so many of the same thing unless its from an investment/collector POV. When it comes to guitars, I have no problem with having an assload of the same model, go figure..

I have seen pics of some guy's monster collection of fender amps, I dont know if this is the same guy but it does look close to what I saw. I THINK he had his on shelves though, can't remember.

Crazy collection.

I saw that picture on the plexi palace too, lots more Fender combos there.

This collection is cool since it has a lot of Blonde/Brown era fenders from the Early 60's, those are great amps.

One one hand these collections are really cool to see, but on the other it does make me a bit sad that most of those amps will go unused. I try to use the Gear I have, but I often feel like the gear doesn't get used enough....

I was HUGE into guitar collecting about 10 years back. Owned over 150 electrics. All High end ones that I wanted when I was a kid but couldnt afford. Well I got bit by the collecting bug and was selling, Buying, Trading TONS of ESP, Old San Dimas Charvels/Jacksons, Nightswans.....
All the graphic Hair metal axes. It was so bad that I wasnt even PLAYING THEM! Got more into just finding/buying them.
One day it just hit me like a ton of bricks. I wasnt even a player anymore.
I sold most of my collection off the past few years and am down to just 3 guitars.
BUT......I play with my Band every weekend and its been such a blast.
Collecting gets very compulsive, but I can say that I never took a beating on my gear when selling.
It held its value nicely. That guy has a helluva amp collection. It just reminded me of when I was big into the collecting scene. Dont miss it. I am much happier playing alot more.
I would love to know the net worth of that collection though!!$$$$ $$$$

Brad

That's awesome man!
I love seeing collections like this! I wonder how it all starts?

Totally cool, I recently got a chance to play a couple of old fenders a friend owns, with his 58 Les paul and holy crap!
what a sweet feeling hearing and playing on a piece of history! must have been kick ass brad!

any pics of the guitars?

So what amp does he actually use? Does he rotate amps?

Usually a blackface vibrolux reverb with a ts808 tube screamer.
