Years ago I had a Gretsch guitar that absolutley loved to play. I sold it to get a 1981 Ibanez Destroyer II, which was a great guitar. Lately, I've been back to wanting another Gretsch. This Masterbuilt Duo Jet is just about as cool as it gets, IMO.

I've been playing my Billy Duffy White Falcon exclusively since I got it. That Gretsch tone through some gain is unreal. Great looking Duo Jet by the way.

A decade or so ago I played a particular Brian Setzer Hot Rod that still haunts me to this day; fuckin thing was amazing in every way

I don't know how much better Masterbuilt are vs Japan? I've played quite a few Japan made Gretsch models. The only thing that has kept me from getting one, is the fret sizing. Too small for me, and I'm not fret nazi. I've noticed that the Masterbuilt models tend to be built with larger fret wire.

Check this... Probably the most hand-built of all big name brands. Dream job!

Gretsch is cool and all, but do you still got that Destroyer LOL

I wish I still had the Destroyer II. Way better than the original Destroyer, IMO. Mine was an '81. Ibanez moved to a crappy looking flametop and a basswood body in '82.
