As I have told others privately playing is my evening drink or drug of choice, it brings me to a good place mentally. I am doing well, shared some laughes with my mother and her brother earlier today about past adventures.
One story always comes up and that was a fishing trip in the Keys many years ago...............it was me at 12 years old, my father, and his brother with a guide as they were chasing Tarpoon and I was there for the ride mostly. Well after several hours we see this 9-10' Bull shark swimming towards the boat and my father is telling me to get my line out of the water as they did not want to screw with the shark as it would suck up time.
Yeah right.
So they are talking about where to go next with the guide and I drop that big old bait right back in the water and that shark nailed it and just started to haul ass riping line off the rod. My father turns around and starts screaming at me what the hell I was doing so I yelled back catching more than you!!!!![]()
Well 45 minutes later we got that shark up to the boat and released it and I was looking at that picture today with me next to the shark with my father holding my pants by the belt loop with one of those " that's my boy" grins on his face as he could not believe I got that shark to the boat. My mother almost beat both our asses for that picture when she saw it. Many years later I would always bring a striper or two to the house and spin tales of why I was the king of stripers here in Connecticut while he sat there with WFAN in the background with his eyebrows lifted laughing at my bravado but I caught word that he would tell the old boys his kid can fish his ass off.
The military cematery grounds crew are going to be pissed when they have to remove a 50" striper by his stone next fall.
