My Gear Is Better Than

IIRC, Mozart composed in his head, imagined the entire composition and arrangement in all its' parts in his mind then wrote them out. His original compositions apparently had no corrections. He imagined perfection.

IMO / for me no one comes close to his genius (but I still dig JS Bach more  ).

YMMV

Not sure if my gear is better than the band in my avatar, they used what are now considered vintage collectables so I settled for the modern equivalent of a subset they used to make my fav music. My Rics are made in USA at least...my Vox, made much further west. :D

That n00b Vito Bratta used ADA shit and fiddles without headstocks, talk about not liking the shape of headstocks.

haha, yeah gear is fun - it's a great hobby, but obviously like what you posted, you don't have to have incredible gear to sound incredrible.

more importantly does your gear bring all the boys to the yard?

is that a JCM 800 in the background? sounds thicker though, was the signal post-edited or reamped and then doubled? Sorry for the silly questions, am trying to figure this "great tone" shit out...heh

Excellent chops Darren!

Come to think of it.. (And please correct me if I am wrong)... But Mozart would compose breathtaking music with nothing but a quilt and some paper.

Quilt?

However, one can never underestimate the influence of a great comfortable blankee; some of my best work ever, was done in close proximity to mine, admittedly, a work in progress, of sorts.

Yes yes, I'm a 60 year old Gear Page snob who thinks Eric Johnson has no business playing Politician and I'd like to give Eric Johnson tone tips, and what gear he should be using.

It's not about the gear Eric Johnson uses, it's about the batteries. Get it straight would ya? ;)

Reason? I am a forum dork who has way too much fun talking and obsessing over gear and tone.

Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.
