Does your amp have the Whomp II on it? If so, how much different is it?

Oh man, that was killer. :rock:

I d/l'ed your g-major settings and tried them out. The clean is working but the delay gets all fazey with dirt. Guess the mini mix is the culprit as Im just running the gmajor in the loop of my rackto.
 
A couple of thoughts... That guitar, as do all Suhrs, looks fantastic! You're playing was right on and I dug it a lot. The other thing is that when those amps came out I really didn't think much of the tone on the clips. But then Brad put up a vid of his rig it sounded screaming!! Now this... I loved the tone! Did you boost that?

For that clip I did boost with a Zakk O/D...but very mildly, it doesn't change the tone or distortion just adds a little ease under the strings at that volume.
You wouldn't be able to tell the difference except the Zakk cuts a little bottom. The OD100se+ has tons of gain.

I dig it a lot. I was looking towards an XTC for my next amp but now I'm thinking hard about an OD-100 CL or CL+....

Very nice sound and chops. Even as old and over played Eruption is, hearing it played well is always great. Good job. Love the guitar too. Wanna trade for a vintage black on black Jackson Randy Rhodes USA with a Kahler and Seymour Duncans? hahahahaha

My guitar teacher who i see 2 times a year (busy guy) has one in fact, im gonna see if we can check it out. last time i was there he JUST got it and showed me but i didnt know what it was :scared:

What are these amps based on? whats a alternative to this amp? i know its a hot rodded 800 (right?) but what amp will give me that gain sound? (apart from of course OD100se+)

I would have the head modded for a series loop and use a minimix...problem solved :)

Kinda of a hot-rodded Marshall thing but with thick gooey mids and singing solo notes...the only thing that comes close is ch3 of the 3+se preamp or get John to mod a Marshall for ya.

I burned out on watching people do eruption 15 years ago..........but that just killed!! :rock:

I don't know much about how to describe tone, (I have no idea what "haunting mids" are) but I would say it's thicker than the tone on the VH 1 album. But very organic, not fizzly. The distortion is in the notes, not over them, if that makes any sense. I'll bet the tone would "cut through" as well.

Great playing. If I tried to play that my fingers would get tied up in knots.

Suggestion: play eruption with the Suhr through your Eggie Seminar head.
