Trust me, besides normal maintenance this isnt get touched. On top of it just sounding perfect the way it is. Everytime i turn it on i get this nostalgic feeling that i own a small peice of rock history. It just feels right just the way it is. It has tons of nice crunch in a very musical way, not shrill or harsh but with an sd1 or even an fd2 pushing the front end it turns into an angry beast. Love it.

Congrats!

I actually got it off ebay. It was listed as a 1983 jmp50 but i knew they didnt make jmp in 83. I took a chance and hit the buy it now for 1099.00. I cant get over how freaking good this sounds. Ive bought and sold alot of equipment in the past few years just to find my sound. This one is never leaving me. Now I need to find more of them LOL.

Marshall definitely made JMPs in 1983, all the way till 1984.

There were no JMP's made after 1981.

Mapat, not sure where you're getting your source. Not only have I seen them in person in Milton Keynes, but it's been documented on the MarshallForum there were definitely JMP Marshalls built and sold up until 1984. I've seen up to 1983 for UK & Europe, and all the 1984 units I know of were sent specifically for the Scandinavian markets. I don't know of any post 1981 JMPs built for the US market though.

I'm curious to know what's the serial number of the original poster's new JMP.

Ah ok, sorry.

I was talking about the US. I should amend my statement:

There were no JMP's made for the US market after 1981.

No sweat!

Yep. I have a '78 2204. STUPID loud, and great, great crunch tone. Add pedals, and just awesome.

I have an '82 2204 and it's a JCM800. Same amp, just a different box and full size chassis. It's the one on top in the pic.
