thanks guys. glad to share the TS story.
jett66...as for the new guitar line it will be under my own name "D'Avanzo Guitars". i have my own headstock design and other twists to make things my own but also stay true to tradition i guess you can say. i'm not interested in doing strathead copies anymore, that will only get you so far. the first 2 or so guitars will be my own and the prototypes to give people some ideas and let them see the headstock and construction etc. then after those every other guitar will be a custom order from the customer in whatever specs they want. i'll have standardized specs in some areas but if a guy wants a 1" thick neck then no problem or a 1 3/4" nut width or vintage size frets or a maple body or whatever it's all an option. i don't want to build random guitars and hope people want them. i really want to be a custom shop like charvel used to be where every guitar that left the shop for the most part was a 1 off custom based on the owners specs. all 100% USA made and no corners cut.
