So yeah, this is how I ordered it and why...First, I had bought one of the very first SS-100's with its matching cab 2 or more years ago. Although I loved the SS, especially its phenomenal sounding clean channel, I wanted a bit more gain from the gain channel. Also, the matching SS cab came delivered without the Ray Gun logo on it. So, I sold the head, kept the cab because the cab sounded fantastic with every amp I hooked it up to. Fast forward to now and all the praise that the 2016 BE-100 has been getting with the additional tone shaping switch on the front etc..., so I decided to pull the trig on one. I asked Dave if he could make me a BE that matched my non-badged SS CAB, he said yes. I asked if he could put it in a black chassis, since the gold chassis that BE's come with would be a bit of a clash with my idea,,,he said no prob. I then inquired if he could put the crisp clean SS CLEAN CHANNEL in the amp as it was being built,,,again,,,yes! Finally, I asked if he could slap in some beer holders ala the 'Blades' amp so that I can enjoy a cold beer while I shred. 'No fucken way' , he said.
So that's the story on it,,it took about 3 months to push it thru due to the fact that they were releasing the OD pedal and the Runt line at the same time, but he did everything I asked and it came out great! It cost and extra 500$ for everything done, which includes the headshell, chassis, and SS clean channel install. Not bad if you ask me. The amp sounds friggen amazing. The new 4th switch all the way over to the right on the front is a great addition, and gives this amp a whole other realm of lower gain tones to work with. Dave really knocked it out of the park for me on this amp, and got it done for me when the guy was slammed with all his other amps and guitars and pedals being released.
