It's been one of those days

if that isn't bad enough my son ran my truck into my boat. Nothing major probably about $500 to fix the truck

it was packed in the original Bogner box which doesn't have much padding. What killed it was that it had been shipped standing on its end and so it was dropped on its end. The FedEx driver left it in my driveway standing on its end .Dropping it like this will almost always bust the headshell at the joints.
If the seller had marked it with "do not stand on end " or " this end up " it would probably have been ok. Also there were no "fragile " stickers on it.

I imagine It would work if I plugged it in and it would be easy to fix. However, the value of the amp is gone. If I fixed it it would never be worth more than about $1400 so its going back.
I wonder what fedex does with these? I bet they end up in a dumpster

So obviously the head shell is toast but what about the amp itself ? Any damage to the chassis , guts , tubes ?

They don't pay any attention to anything you write on the box like "this end up" "fragile" etc anyways.

should look into getting a new headshell from Mr. Bogner....if everything works fine, and isn't damaged, probably about a $300 purchase. Maybe do a partial refund from seller. I know you are pissed, but I'm sure the seller is just as pissed. He is the one that probably eats it.

Sucks! I've had a rash of bad luck on the last four amps. Not as significant as yours, but it always sucks having to deal with damage or other issues. Best of luck!

I don't know if I can get a new headshell from Bogner, hell it takes an act of congress to get one of these shipped to a store much less try to get Bogner to part with a headshell.

I had to deal with this once before. It was the exact same damage on a marshall head. The shipper files a claim and Fedex shows up and takes it away. I don't know if its possible to do a partial claim or not. I kinda doubt it.

Like I said before it will probably end up in the dumpster after Fedex pays for it.

Btw I plugged it in and it sounds amazing, I didn't try the loop but everything else is as it should be.

the OT is slightly lifted off one side but nothing worth mentioning. Other than that I think its just the headshell. I did play it but i didn't open it up so I don't know if there may be a cracked circuit board or something.

So what do you guys think would be a good price for the one with the busted headshell ? The guy I bought it from didn't get insurance on it and is talking about selling it to me at a discount.
