Got myself a Hagen to place on top of my Herberts.
Not pictured is my D-Moll. Now all I need is a VH4 to achieve peak fanboy level

I have to say the Hagen is similar enough to the Herbert for me to love it yet different enough to be interesting. The cleans are outstanding and channels 2 and 3 cover about every other ground. Channel 4 is a bit weird to me still but I may just need some more time with it.

Nice! I've always wanted to try a Diezel VH4, channel 3 really sounds great to me in clips. I have never even seen a Diezel in the wild though, that's how isolated I am. All I see around here is typical shit like Marshall's, Fender's, Peavey's the odd Boogie, Ampeg or Randall. The rarest amp I've played thru is a Mesa Mark IIC+ DRG that a friend owns.

I haven't heard much of the Hagen, i'll have to do some searching, or you can post a clip, right?

I'll be making some videos with it for sure, like shooting it out against the Herbert or the Engl Invader 100 or the Mooer Gas Station pedal

would ya do us a Hagen vs Herbert mk2 comparison? i been itching for a Hagen and a Dual rect too lately... i am confused over what i want and many of the amps i got has different character and i ended up retaining them all lol...

I will do that! I want to make a few videos on the Laney VH100R first but I'll get to that comparison early next year probably

I’ve always wanted to play/hear a Diezel in person. I’ve only ever played models :(

Having only tried the VH4 and not liking it at all, and with absolutely zero retailers carrying these amps in my area in Canada, I haven't been very tempted to buy a Diezel.

How do you describe the Hagen? Is it close to VH4 high gain territory?

Aw man that's a great amp. If I could buy a Diezel right now it would be the Hagen. It's the most underrated Diezel in my opinion. How do you like it compared to the D-Moll specifically?

No

Old Herbert mk 1 with all 6l6 boosted is one of my fav things I use . Still in my top 3. You should try that sometime if a good deal pops up online

Love the Hagen. It's sexy as hell too. It's their, updated with 20+ year of experience, version of the VH4 platform.
I put a 5751/12AT7 into V2 to tame Ch4 on my Hagen and VH4. Much easier to get along with than the oversaturated 12AX7 sound in there to me. I think Ventura suggested that years ago on here to help. The clean on the VH4 sounds great, but the Hagen is sweeter.

Nice collection and congrats on the Hagen!! One my my biggest regrets was selling my Hagen. Had it about 10 years thought I’d keep it forever, but eventually screwed up and sold it. Man I miss it, congrats again!!

I was the same, couldn't get along with the VH4 but my first series Herbert is one of my favourite amps.

Turns out I was just playing the wrong model amp in their lineup.

I can't really describe it in comparison to the VH4 because I don't have any first hand experience with that amp, only the Synergy module and my recent tests tell me that the Synergy modules are cool but don't neccessarily feel like the amps they model. Guess I'll have to track down a good deal on a VH4.
The Hagen is for sure closely related to the Herbert and D-Moll but at first impressions seems a bit more open sounding. The low end especially seems a bit bigger but softer. It's very versatile for sure.
I'll have to do some direct A/B testing soom

I still need to test them back to back but it feels similar to when I first tried my D-Moll. I think the D-Moll might lie somewhere between Hagen and Herbert feel and sound wise but I still need to play them back to back. I might change my opinion after that

When your making a Hagen video ?
I'm going to take a little time to get to really know the amp and do a couple of videos on the Laney VH100R beforehand.
So I guess late January or so. I want to compare it to the Herbert and the Engl Invader 100 for now.
And since the Herbert pedal vs Herbert amp was so popular compared to my other stuff, I also picked up a Mooer Gas Station pedal... for science ?
