Bro I think the playing is really good and the tone is definitely something I'm sure I would love playing with. I think you have killer chops and killer tone!

thank you sir :)

Sounds great! I'd like to hear the same clip with the old 100w though for a good comparison

that is a great idea...gonna do that

Just A/Bing the 2 clips, they sound similar. Stealth sounds a little fuller, almost like a slight OD/boost was added. I don't know if it's enough to warrant a $500 price difference.

Very similar on the videos. In person They sound and feel a lot different in comparison. Especially the blue channel. I love both of them. Stealth has a little more grind to it and the original has a little more sag...

In the bid the stealth sounds more scooped. But both clips are great!!! Very nice amps and playing. I like your get the funk out a lot!

Great clips! Are the settings exact on both amps? I agree about the Stealth sounding a tad more scooped. I know you can have a million different combinations to compare but my favorite EVH amp tone is a boosted blue channel of the original 100w EVH.

EDIT: just looked closer, seems both have very similar settings

Yeah, the settings are similar.

Great clips!

I've been thinking about getting this amp again and wish I never sold the one I had. I thought the standard amp was fine for me and I didn't use it as a heavy gain amp but more for crunch rhythm's and driving lead tones. I did rely on the clean channel quite a bit. Does this mod add that much more gain? I personally can't imagine this amp needing more gain than the standard amp already has, so that would concern me. What I really like on this version is the resonance control and the bias adjustment on the back. I would love to have these features and was wondering is it worth getting this version amp for these features but not knowing what the mods do to the overall sound.... Your the first person I've found that has both amps and was hoping you could give me some comparisons between the two....

Thanks

Here's a youtube video of me with the 5150III

First off...cool tune John. I think both models sound good in your guys clips...the difference to my ear is original sounds a little more bognerish, and 100s sounds a little more marshallish. Part of that could be the feel of the power tubes...JJ's 6L6 have some sponge. I know the 100s has Winged C....although I've never played their 6L6, could be a feel factor.

Just giged with the stealth. Brought both and went with the stealth at the last minute. Stayed on the red channel all night. Happy with it for the most part. Pretty noisy compared to the peaveys. Different, for rhythm it great for solos I don't know, can't figure it out..

Great clips, and gratz. So did I get this right, they only produced a limited number of these amps?

@John Price, great tune.
P.S. What's inside in your Marshall 4x12?
Thanks.

Thank you!
It's an original 1974 cabinet with tanbacks.

Sounds great.
Wonder if theyll do a stealth 50w?
Doubt it, as the Stealth was based off the 50w. Increased gain on channel 2 with a resonance control.
