Hey fellas, if some of you who have been here on the forums for a number of years remember my FS threads you will know I have bought and sold this head multiple times... literally, a silly amount of times... I wrestled with the digital/tube thing for forever and I'm happy to say I've finally made my way back home...

I don't normally do this, but I want to extend a personal thank you to lolzgreg for a fantastic transaction, I almost bought the head multiple times, but needed to sell some of my own gear first, and there were a couple times I thought my stuff was sold and tire kickers backed out last minute... his communication was excellent, and he packed the amp to survive a bomb...

Anyhow...2012 Diezel VH-4... in literally showroom condition, I'm not one for really worrying too much about marks or scuffs, but the head looked so clean when it arrived I decided to go over it meticulously and there literally isn't a mark on it... very pleased...

Unfortunately I haven't plugged her in yet, all my gear is at the rehearsal space, so I'm headed there in a couple hours to get her fired up... will bring my gear home with me and post a couple videos... and also post my opinions on the ever popular "Do the newer heads sound different" debate...

For now... a few quick pictures...

Quick picture with the fiddles...

Video to come over the weekend when I have time to film/edit!

It's funny how many come back to a nice tube amp. Nothing wrong with that......but yes.......I think perhaps this time you maybe will keep this beauty?

I've decided on the same with my JVMJS. Every time I play it, I really like it and have no desire to search out anything else.

Awesome man.....thats my favorite amp by far as well.
Been rocking a FJA modded Recto the past couple years that really bad ass....
But the VH4 is in its own league.

My next amp purchase also. :D

Boom. Good work.

I had a 2008 model a few years back & more recently bought a 2012. Difficult to say whether the KT77 tubes are the reason behind the tonal differences. I loaded a bunch of tubes into the old Diezel & do think the KT77 are my favourite tube set of the bunch, having tried them. The amp now feels a little less aggressive aswell, which suits my tastes.

Back in 2005, I owned an older VH4 from (2002).
It was cool but it didn't sound better than my
2013 VH4. The 02 was a bit Darker and not as Crisp
as the Newer version.
Let's just say, Papa Peter Diezel and Company have
worked out all the Bug's and "NAILED DOWN" the
VH4 Circuit, Once and for all in the Newer Versions!!

Thanks fellas... Put her through he paces tonight... Not sure how I feel about the KT77's...I absolutely hated them in the Hagen I had... But then again I hated the Hagen period... Still the VH-4 sound that I know and love... Still trying to get my Axe standard working the way I want... The A/D/A conversion is pretty noticeable with the 4 cable method...

Any tube suggestions for the most High End bite? I really don't care about midrange or low end... The VH-4 has that in spades regardless of what you put in it haha

isn't there a parallel fx loop as well? might help for the loop

tung sol i guess for more high end

grats on the amp =0

Congratulations! For pre-amp tubes Shuguangs will get you a lot of high end bite.

I found that digital rack equipment sounds best in parallel. The only drawback being that the tremolo & pan (etc) FX don't function as intended.

I've never been happy about placing a digital unit in the series loop of my Diezel. Tried it with a G-Major 2 & hated it.

Congrat! Thos amps are always interest me - i never heard them in person (no diesel distributor in Israel )
